Recording from phone/laptop to mpc one+

Hi I have just recently bought an mpc one+ and it's the 1st time I have ever used one. I want to sample from YouTube etc on my phone/laptop to my mpc but for some reason I can't get it to work. I have the (Cable Matters Mini Jack to Dual Jack Cable 0.9 m, 3.5mm to 6.35mm Audio Cable, 3.5mm TRS to Dual 6.35mm TS Breakout Cable, Mini Jack to 1/4 inch Jack, Stereo Jack to 2 Mono Jack's) lead and plug them into my phone/laptop and into the inputs in back of mpc one but I can't get any sound at all from phone or laptop. I'm using PreSonus Eris 3.5BT Gen 2 Bluetooth speakers for laptop but I have my mpc hooked up via the red/white leads in back of speaker to the phones port on mpc. Any help is much appreciated.

wow what a set up

sample volume on the back of your mpc needs to be turned up. its a physical dial on the opposite side than the headphones.

The volume dial is turned up. I mean im getting no sound from phone or through mpc when hooked up as if headphones are plugged in but get sound through laptop but when recording on mpc, it does not record anything and its just blank

I've done all that and I can't understand why I'm getting no sound from anywhere and the recording is blank

There could be problems with the cable(s). Have you tested them all to make sure that they work?

Yep I've done that and they all work. There's something probably really simple I'm missing somewhere but I have no idea!

Yep I've even watched other videos and followed them but still no luck

The same thing happens with the phone as well as the laptop

For some reason it's started working now and have done nothing different than before!
