How do you delete a sequence?

How does one *normally* go about deleting a sequence on an 1000 w/jjOS?

I came from using 2000XL for like 15 years and assumed same process: highlight sequence, open window, select Delete.

So on my 1000 with jjOS...highlight sequence, open window, and "Delete" option is F2 button...but hit F2 button...something wonky happens, doesn't delete sequence, and kicks me back out into main screen.

Thought maybe F2 button was bad/retriggering (previous owner replaced some stuff)...but the button seems to function just fine in other windows? When I'm done with my current project, gonna open it up to check everything, but right now no idea if it's physical issues, OS needs reinstallation, or if jjOS changed the way this function works.

However, F2 also accesses "Click" function from main screen...push F2, the Click menu opens up & flashes very briefly and closes; Click menu doesn't stay open. So the F2 buttons is giving me problems across multiple functions, not just when trying to delete a sequence

Some menus/functions the F2 button works just fine...some menus/functions it's like it's glitching out/retriggering.

The frustrating part is mostly just having come from the 2000XL and moving over to the 1000 while trying to figure out what changed/stayed the same between the those 2...and then trying to figure out what changes/stays the same between the 1000's normal OS and jjOS...and then having to sort through the normal 1000 manual and the cryptic jjOS manual...

I also have another issue with Pad Bank A button starting sequences and Pad Bank B stopping sequences when you push them, so once again I'm not sure if this is some sort of jjOS function or leads me back to maybe part of the board being fried/bad buttons & contacts.

Other than the F2, Pad Bank A & B buttons, I don't think I've observed any problems with any other buttons & functions. While the F2 issue doesn't make sense to me, the Pad Bank A & B buttons also being used as a Start/Stop function vaguely makes sense to me, as I know that you can assign other functions to initiate start/stop/record sequences, but I didn't see the Pad Bank buttons as one of them in the machine.

1st question : I'm also curious about this, even after deleting all events in a sequence the BPM & assigned PGM are still there, so when freeing up space & deleting old / unused data the system still seems to recognize these empty sequences as 'in use'. It's odd but not really an issue for me as we can just overwrite stuff anyhow.

2nd question : My F1 to F6 buttons started to fail slowly one by one last year, so I got some new tact switches & replaced the bad ones, but damaged the board in the process with clumsy soldering, so I had to replace that small board - MPC Stuff sell them :

But the way they are behaving by your description is unusual, so I could be an issue with the ribbon or connection to the main board? When the tact switches go, the buttons tend to just become unresponsive.
If you're comfortable taking it apart, I'd check the ribbon connection to the main board first - otherwise best get an expert opinion from someone handy locally if that's an option. Worst case scenario - replace the F button board - pretty easy to do & doesn't require any soldering, just a few small screws.

In jjos2xl, Move the cursor to the name of the sequence on the main screen. Hit window. You now have options to rename, copy, delete the sequence via the F keys.
