Beat Making book by Joseph G. Schloss

I just found this in Remix Mag. It's called Making Beats-the art of sample based hip hop

It looks pretty interesting, maybe nothing technical in it to learn, but prob an interesting read.

I have that book. It's not a "how to" book at all. It's more of a culture study based around sample-slaying hiphop producers.

The tone its written in is kind of dry, and very academic - not for everyone....but the content is interesting.

There's a whole chapter on "Sample Ethics" - a subject that triggered a huge debate on this forum a while back.

Wasn't that available as a pdf?
