When selecting New Project in preferences the MPC 37 Key switches off then reboots back into the startup screen. Hopefully this bug is fixed in the next firmware update.

Nevermind. It’s normal and not a bug.

First things first, make sure you’re running the latest firmware. Akai is pretty good about releasing updates that fix bugs and improve stability. Also, consider doing a factory reset or try reinstalling the software on your computer and double-check all your MIDI settings

MPC Live 2 - Both user template files and auto load files do not display project name after project load. Both options do load the correct project file, but the main screen does not display the project name. Auto load file option is hit and miss, sometimes it will display project name sometimes it does not. Loading template/default project file direct from browser always displays project name in main screen.

I have a bug I just encountered. I was in the middle of playing back a track of bass and keys loading up a drum rack when everything just froze up and nothing would respond except the volume knob. So I had to hold the power and force restart the MPC. Hopefully it hasn’t erased the project I was just working on. I’m using a MPC key 37.

Here is a bug I reported for the MPC One when 2.11 was released.

Now we are at the 2.14 update years later and the bug is still present

1. Open any sample in Sample Edit mode
2. Zoom in 100%
3. Select start or end value field
4. Turning the Data Dial now increases and decreases the selected value by 2 instead of 1
5. Pressing the + and - Buttons now increase and decrease the selected value by 2 instead of 1

Create Progression Bug: I play 8 different chords in to a track. I highlight the 8 chords. go to create progression. I try to play the progression but chords 5-8 are identical to 1-4. Not sure what's happening there.

Have they finally fixed the "MIDI note-off messages can be sent to the wrong MIDI channel when received from multiple sources simultaneously" bug in 2.15? I opened a ticket with inMusic four months ago and they said: "I can assure you there have been no reports of this on 2.13 or any recent operating system."

I tried this just now, and I wasn't able to get this bug.
I sent a note on message (C3) on channel 1 and then a note off message (also C3) on channel 2 and the note on channel 1 keeps sounding.
So, yes, it seems fixed.
Perhaps someone else can confirm?

RandomVibration wrote:If they could fix the MIDI channel note bug(s), I would think they would’ve by now. I think there is some underlying flaw in the Linux layer, MPC software layer, or SoC that Akai can’t seem to fix with the resources they have at their disposal. They can produce new versions of the firmware with new features and bugs and new hardware but this problem remains persistent. There seems to be a reason they just can’t or won’t resolve this. They aren’t saying.

I feel like building your own midi controller using arduino that is big enough to hold a latte panda sigma (x86 soc) an audio interface. and a touch screen and 3d print an enclosure and run the DAW of your choice on it is an easier concept at that this point rather than keeping up hope that they will ever fix that.

Did you try to record both Midi tracks in a sequence ?
I just tested, the "Multichannel Note OFF" bug still exists in 2.15 (on my MPC One)
