Who doubted 3.0 was ever coming out? I think its pretty **** obvious at some point it would.

What we doubted was you spouting off every 2 months for the last however many years "ITS COMING ITS COMING AND SO IS THE MPC MINI".

Get over it already.

now i gotta say the interface on the new home scren looked better in the akai vid then it looks in this vid

also i think the old xyfx screen looked better.

and i see they have got rid of programs; i aint sure bout that idea, maybe some of the change was a bit radical, but think th eblack background is prefferable to the grey, and the mixer and arranger was the main things we wanted.

So, arranger - but it is actually just an overview of the sequence's tracks... No scenes: a track still can only exist in a single sequence.

OMG locators! Macros!

Arranger! slice motion! 8 layers per drum pad!

MPC-Tutor's vacations are over! Get back to work!

It was not at all obvious that Akai would invest another round in their mature platform. A new platform was a dangerous possibility. I'm glad Akai keeps improving our existing hardware !

I'm guessing clips got dropped in favor of recording to them to the arranger. Not sure that's for the best though. Somebody would probably need to load up a project that used clips to see how they import over.

EDIT: Looks like Clips are unsupported and "loaded as drum tracks"

Woooohoooo - audio tracks in track mute, at laaaaast !

... But the new mute behaviour that cuts the audio immediately instead of just not playing any further note sucks badly for long notes.

This is not good. Do they still trigger in a quantized fashion or not?

Submix/Return/Master fx & Tempo automation though...

Quite the move to drastically change the UI and the basic structure like that. But this looks really good, from what I can see it’s a better environment to work with all the extra features we got last decade and we will get in the next couple of years.
