Are the MIDI bugs still present? When MIDI is imported, does it still create a new sequence every time?
Since the desktop version of 3 won't be released until next year, how does that impact workflows that utilize standalone and desktop?

If any tester can solve me a doubt...its possible in this v3, set the number of steps per track? For example create a beat with 5 steps in track 1 and other with 7 steps in track 2 (not in multiple of 4) in order to be able to polyrithms?

I’m aghast, akai appear to have taken on board one of my feature suggestions :) Looks like we can now combine velocity switching and round robins on each pad as we now have the option to play a random slice from a sample chain each time a layer is triggered. It’s called slice motion, the example in the video is using loops but I think this should also work with one shots

I am also really interested in how this translates over to a then die MPC 3 SW but this is a topic for the other sub forum

My question: is 3.0 a paid or free upgrade from Akai? If paid, how much? While I don’t mind paying you another $40 for a new MPC Bible @MPC-Tutor, not sure I feel comfortable giving Akai any more money until all the major (and a significant portion of the lesser) bugs are truly resolved.

Y’all can be the paid guinea pigs.

Andy said that it’s free at the very end of the video. Not just the Beta but the final as well. Which is really awesome

Well that’s awfully nice of Akai. I guess that absolves them of having to issue any refunds for show-stopping bugs. Cynical mode off.

in the vids i watched for now the only thing that never surfaces is examples of live performance. i'm a bit worried because both programs and clip tracks have been ditched. if you know a video that focuses on live performance with mpc 3.0 please drop a link here, thank you.

it is already possible, we can set the length of any number of beats, so why would they remove that feature ?

MPC-Tutor wrote:lol, I found out today. TBF I got a cryptic email from akai a few weeks ago which I now realise must have been about this, but I had a very sick dog to deal with on that day and they never got back to me.

But yes, a lot of work ahead for me and already I’m getting people expecting mpc bible 3 to somehow be a free update. :hmmm: it will not be free…

I’ve always said that I was happy to put out free minor updates (22 to date) but any major update or upgrade would definitely not be free. Mpc Bible 3 is going to be a huge rewrite, I think many of the existing tutorials will have to be completely replaced and of course plenty of entirely new content. I was already working on a new course structure anyway as I wanted to reflect the new modern workflows that have developed since the original course was written

I’m literally on a family holiday atm so have been given permission to take a couple of hours to get my thoughts together and watch the overview vids. But I’ll get cracking on this next week

Yikes!!

At Least Akai Keeps him in the loop considering he runs one of the oldest and deepest forums for information on their products...

I guess we know why a lot of the MPC live 2, studio, etc are all out of stock. Sounds like some new equipment will be released soon.

This is the update that we have all been seeking! After this free update of MPC 3, AKAI can rest on their laurels for years to come. There is nothing left to be desired!

positive noises from the Tutor and u was one of the biggest 3.0 skeptics

but it seems big chin Dan was correct all along; as he mentioned 3.0 would be based on the Force OS, and that disk streaming would come at 3.0.
