MIDI is clearly on the way out. If you noticed in the video, there were 7 tracks, and 6 out of those were audio tracks. Audio is so much better. With MIDI everything is one big track with no building blocks of any kind, but with audio you get at least sections. The hell with MIDI altogether! It's a 1980s technology. Audio is modern. Spotify is all audio, no MIDI!

From what I can see, you can still have multiple sequences, song mode, pad mutes, track mutes, next seq. The big change is all tracks stay persistent thoughtout and programs aren't a thing. Tbf program designs was a major part of the MPC legacy...but you can still setup a drum track and treat it mostly like a program. So it's prob just a matter of getting used to a new workflow that for the most simplifies things but unfortunately there has to be some trade offs.
A bit of a shame there are no clip launching features, hated them on the MPC but it did make sense to port some format from the Force over. However, for song making on an MPC I don't see the workflow otherwise being that different. I.e. you can still create seq1 to be your main idea, copy that and make it your intro with the various mutes, copy and toggle.mutes to make a chorus and so on. Then chain all this in song mode and convert to a new sequence. The arranger is just a new additional view with its own functionality- in many ways MPC OS2 software already had this. The merging of audio and midi tracks in the same view was much much needed.
