setting to record an audio track but not start on the 1

Hi,

I want to record a clip starting on the 2nd beat of bar 4. If i set the playhead to that location, arm the track and start to record, it automatically sets my playhead to the first beat of bar 4.

Why does it do this?

I know I can set the punch in option, but this would be a little quicker.

what am i doing wrong?

what is your quantization set to ?

It does not seem possible to start recording from the middle of a bar for both MIDI and AUDIO track.

locate - auto record settings : punch in , punch out [time]
