Here's Akai's word on track mutes affecting other sequences.

Its gotta be annoying taking customer complaints already on something that hasn't even released beta, nevermind to the public

To be fair, when you announce a plan of clearly and obviously taking a flamethrower to the fundamentals of how people have been using your devices it's got to be expected that you'll get a lot of "please don't" right out the gate.

I'm sure that ChatGPT understands our feelings though.

Because I signed up with several emails from several domains + a "press" domain and didn't get access.
This looks a bit like Akai pumping a balloon. To me open beta should be open beta.

They have a feedback option, so they get feedback.

They asked me to test the Beta, so they are asking customers to do work for them. It's all part of the relationship really.

They said the public beta would not be ready for a few weeks, the sign up was to be alerted when its ready. Only members of the private beta testing team have access ATM

pump the brakes. not a new operating system. just a new version of the MPC software within the operating system. still buildroot / linux running the machine. The software we interact with from the machine is NOT the entire operating system. its a single program that automatically loads.

Didn't Heard anything about 8 audio track limitation. Is the 3.0 with disk streaming allow more flexibility concerning audio track amount ?

The 8 audio track limit is currently the same.

You could record a track, then load it on a pad and trigger with MIDI? As many pads as you want, just record the WAVs at most 8 at a time. It should even support disk streaming now.

Maybe I was imagining it, but I think Amit Talwar did some kind of overlay via one of the Force hacking groups which basically does this, using DRUM programs but making it appear like audio tracks?

We need to buy Amit an MPC so he can start working some of his magic for the dark side.

Yes but playing a midi data and manipulate an audio file isn't quite the same in term of editing. This workaround is well known but since arranger is here, though they unleash some restrictions about audio. Too bad.

Does anyone think that Akai will release a newer version of the MPC or Keys controller that may be more compatible with the MPC 3?

that is very likely since their business is based on selling hardware. (no sarcasm). it just stands to reason there will be a new tier of units eventually to follow.
