But you can also use public DNS like DNS from Google 8.8.8.8 or Cloudflare 1.1.1.1

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1.1.1.1

Just choose manual settings and enter:
Ip address: 192.168.0.32
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Dns: 1.1.1.1

I don't know exactly why you need internet, but you can also connect an android and share internet from your phone via cable (USB tethering in phone settings).

The MPC One has to be connect to a 'DNS Server' in order to pass that part of the test. I don't need or want to connect my MPC to the internet, it's purely to pass the test, the test you described the stages of in your initial post.

I don't know what a network administrator is. I live in a house and Google and Facebook are fed to me via a cable that comes into the house.

What am I meant to plug the ethernet cable into if not the internet? I don't have a server in the house.

Alas, changing the address doesn't work- still gets a fail.

all you gotta do is set the addressing to auto and plug a ethernet cable into your mpc / router. You can disable the internet on your modem with a button generally if you dont want it calling home.

Then three boxes for product code, os version ID test app version…..none of them populated.

Then at the bottom ….running on ACVA/ 2021.02.12. Launcher version 1.0.5

Anyone know how I run the diagnostic from here please

I just can't figure it out. I've tried everything detailed here. I can't even get the test app to respond past the screenshot I've sent. HELP

I can't seem to figure out how to post pictures either. Regardless. I have the same problem as the previous poster, I can't get the test app mode to kick in. Just shows 3 windows and no choices to press.

That just a test app selector, not an actual test app - they don't store test data on the devices anymore since i've been leaking too much media resources for upcoming releases that were stored within them (force6, key61 etc etc...)

Oh no! So is it hopeless at this point? Is there any way to try and rectify this issue?

Also, by not resetting the serial, what am I actually losing from a functionality standpoint?

Is it a big deal or negligible?

Serial is stored in two locations on your device - can't remember exactly where from the top of my head. You may use any of the available SSH enabled firmwares, login to your mpc and change it to the required one.

All buttons, dials, touchstrips, encoder of any kind are useless. The whole thing is useless aka bricked.

I believe the INVALID SERIAL issue and the non-functional buttons issue are unrelated. Normally, you can operate the device even when the INVALID SERIAL message is displayed. I recommend contacting the seller or Akai support.
