Hello All,

I got AIR Hybrid 3 with my MPC Live and installed it without an issue. I can select it and from the plug-in menu without a problem. My issues is trying to access it from the Expansion Browser.

There are a few other "Legacy Expansions" that are not really expansions that show up in the browser. Such as TheBank, The909, TheNoise, and TheWub. They show up in the Expansion Browser and although they are really Plug-Ins.

You can not only see them in the expansion browser, you can load them from there to. If you click on the Expansion and then preset, it shows a link to Load Plug-In. If you double click this, it will load the plugin for you from the browser. A nice convivence when quickly searching for sounds. Those expansions load into the first default program and sound and you can play that sound it immediately.

So my issue is this... I tried to do the same thing with Hybrid 3 since it also shows up in the expansion browser. The problem begins when I double-click the "Load Plugin" it appears to load the plugin but it is actually loading a a blank plugin with no sounds at all.

I am trying to figure out how to make it load the actual plugin and presets like the others do. I am sure this is achievable but I don't know how to hack this into existence. I think the .XML file for the expansion may be the way to "fix this" or else the installation location might be an issue as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with plugin / expansion .XML files?

Thanks.

Hybrid is just for the MPC software, not the hardware. Some of the free downloads you get when registering your MPC on the Akai site are for both the hardware and software (e.g. The Vault, Essential Instruments 2), since they are sound packs. Others are just plugins for the software.

Sorry, I got confused by your post. It sounded like you were trying to load a software plugin into the hardware. My bad.

Regarding the MPC 2.x software: I keep it up to date but only use it to transfer sound pack expansions to the hardware. I prefer working just in the hardware. Hopefully a software user can help you further.
