No floppy device MPC 2000XL and Startech

Hello. I have installed a Startech Compact Flash 35BAYCF2IDE reader.


Before doing this I have installed the 1.2 OS version in the MPC 2000XL.

I have tried the following cf cards but the MPC always show a "no floppy disk" message.



All cards have been formatted to FAT 16

I have double checked all connections.

What can I do?

I can't set the card reader because the MPC doesn't recognize it, or doesn't recognize the ATAPI/IDE.

I forget to mention the card reader jumper is setted to master.

Yes. I tried it as slave and as master

Post a picture of what you see on the actual screen.

Unfortunately the pictures you did post are of no help as all it shows is that you connected a card reader and a picture of random CF cards.

This is what it says.

Obviously, I had to remove the floppy to install the card reader, but the MPC does't detect the card reader.

Problem solved.

The fault was that the connector that goes to the motherboard was not fully inserted.

By the moment it can read:

Sandisk Ultra II 1 Gb cards
Sandisk Extreme III 1GB
CnMemory 512 GB

I will check making a partition with the cards with more than 1 Gb to see if it can read it.

With os 1.20, it wont recognize more than 1GB regardless the CF card size as far i remember (IF formated from os 1.20).
