Helloooo!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Akai.. could you add support for mouse input on MPCs ???
That would be a so huge leap in productivity!!
Would make the piano roll much more usable and give a better control on other things, like track channel strip and a ton of other interfaces which are a bit quirky to use with the touchscreen!!

please please pleaseeeeee :worthy:

This should definitely be added now that we have arrangement view just to have more precision with selection

Not more precise than you have to be in MPC2. You cannot edit events or audio directly in the actual arranger tracks themselves, you have to double tap to open up a split screen editor which is the same width as the usual grid/audio edit screen, just half screen height.

Would be cool if they added support for the Apple Pencil

I keep meaning to get a capacitive pen to try out.

I have an electronic stylus for me laptop (like the apple pen), but MPC doesn't detect any contact, so I don't think a software update would be able to do anything. The pen allows pressure sensitivity, and has 2 function button. Which is communicated through bluetooth. I'm not sure about the others but the MPC One doesn't have bluetooth. Not sure the pressure sensitivity would offer much.

Just use controller mode on your monitor behind the MPC. You’re controlling the device with your mouse. That’s mouse support.

Hi,

I signed up to support this request.
This is my first post. Hi

Dara, Dublin Ireland.
Key 37 Owner for a few months now. Excellent piece of kit. But I would love mouse support, either USB port or Bluetooth. I don't want to have my pc on. It's in the other room, plus I just want mpc on, one piece of gear to rule them all. But sometimes it is really hard to do piano roll parameter edits and selections. Switching between zoom mode and edit mode is not cool. It's far too many presses, touches, drags and zooms.
I do get the idea that some people want to keep it hardcore and pure, standalone ftw, but a mouse would be like a light saber at times on the mpc key 37.

Make it so.

Most peoples request are actually just Controller Mode.

What the mpc needs is a BETTER touch screen.

Surely with MPC3, now is the perfect time to really create a "Standalone" MPC.

The next generation really need to have HDMI out for a monitor and proper mouse support. I mean, Roland had both of these a decade ago......and nobody told their users to "just use your computer!" so why does everyone insist on saying this whenever we ask for video out?
Standalone to me is just having everything self-contained in one box which you can switch on and make music. Controller mode is a whole different idea, you've got to start up your computer, manage any crap that it wants to do first, then you've got to switch the MPC into controller mode and don't mention matching up plugins and all that stuff.

I really don't see how wanting a larger monitor (like the Roland MV series) always brings out the "just use your laptop" crowd.

How cool would it be if with the next MPC's we could plug in a 32" monitor and the software would be intelligent enough to recognise it and switch the internal screen to show different things (Linear arranger timeline on the big monitor and mixer on the internal screen)

Once the MPC3 update drops I think most of the things I wanted will be covered so my last wish would be for HDMI video out......come on AKAI you can do it :)

So not a ”Standalone”, but instead more like a ”Standtogether”?
