Insert effects not working

Hi! I recently picked up a mpc one and get on with it for the most part apart from one thing..the effect inserts only works sometimes on some sounds, quite often i can open up a plugin and can twist the knobs but dont get any effect from it, im talking about the internal effects here and its really a bummer. I think this might be more of a question for the support team at akai but i thought id start here..any help much appriciated!

Sounds pretty stupid but.. are you making sure each insert is enabled? there's a little on off button beside the 4 slots.

if not that then perhaps its which screen you're using them from. what menu are you in when you try to assign fx to your program? try the main sequence window thingy and click the left side it to expand a hidden menu and look at the top, there are buttons for master, program and various things. select the one that looks like the program icon then insert your fx.

Specifically which fx plugins are causing these issues?

I tryed the autowah and a couple of eqs, its like 3/4 of the time the plugins doesnt work..

I would try to reproduce it with some unmistakable effects like heavy distortion or delay with a high mix amount -- to make sure it's not that you're not hitting the env threshold or the effect is too subtle to recognise on the monitors/phones you're using.

No im certain, i can clearly hear when its actually working, its not subtle..

I haven't got access to my MPC at the mo, but if I remember correctly you sometimes need to set the effects in the mixer section as they don't work for everything in the main view, depends on what type of program it is, e.g. Plugin or Key thingy, what's you call it. Can't remember. Moving house so mines all packed away so I can't check for ya. (

I'm not aware of any bugs like this, sounds like user error (sorry OP), but maybe post a video of the issue. I mean the whole process if possible so we can see if you are doing something wrong.

Insert effects work, reliably and without fail. Here's how you do it. Number one, get your program going. Number two, go to the menu, select channel mixer, and then select the program you want to put effects on. Touch the empty box on the left side, and you can add your effect there. It will be enabled by default. But make sure that it stays enabled. Now touch the pencil icon, and you can go in and tweak the effects settings.

Note that if you add an effect through the pad mixer or the program editor, it will only affect a single pad.

Im doing all of that, and i am telling you it doesnt work.

You may need to ask akai for a restore file to reflash your unit .
