Bug/feature in new Keys 61

I just got a Keys 61 - and immediately updated it to the latest firmware (2.15.0). I seem to be having a recurring problem. Specifically, if I hit the Menu button, and then the New Project button, quite often I get the message

“A network error occurred whilst accessing Splice”

Yes, it says “whilst”, that’s not a misspell. I don’t have a Splice account, and it’s not turned on in the preferences.

Any ideas about how to eliminate this?

I got this message too, when I was connected to the internet. I have an older MPC One, upgraded to 2.15 at the weekend when I downloading Subfactory and then activating. Because my MPC doesn't have internet I only get it when connecting my ethernet cable. Never used Splice either.

It's kind of funny to me how everyone basically on the same system but some people get errors that others don't. I've never had an issue with plug in activations, yet some have the same operating system and unit, but do.

Makes me kind of think it may be a internet issue, and to do with the service provider. I'm pretty much never connected to the internet, as I need to go in the other room and attach an ether net cable. Not sure if I had this error message before, as the last time I connected my ethernet, I was in a different apartment.

Oh, I should mention - I also have a MPC Live II, running the same firmware, and it never throws this error.

Well that blows my service provider theory then.

Reset Your Preferences...Possibly may help

Whatever it was/is, it hasn't done it since early this morning. I installed a ssd in the thing this morning, and have been doing stuff the normal way I do things, which doesn't really involve the steps I mentioned that produces this bug anyway, and it just hasn't happened again for whatever reason.
