"Advanced" plugins are welcome, but having too many tabs in the TUI makes them hard to use :? It’s not an issue with the desktop version, though.

OPX4 needs that amount of pages dues to the amount of options and being able to have Q-Links assigned to them, but the tabs are spread across 2 screens. They could re-sort the pages and get all the tabs accessible from one screen. Submix, Sample Layer and settings could join the Main Tab, and Both FX tabs could be combined and it's all more accessible.

No it doesn’t.
You touch a few more times, takes 2 seconds.
Somewhat annoying and maybe could be designed better, maybe yes.
Not “hard” to do.

If anyone out there has an attention span shorter than 2 seconds, it’s not a TUI problem.

A vocoder with two different engines.

1. classic vocoder sound with impulse wave synth and a small filter bank
2. granular pitch shift / correction with MIDI note input for the transpose, "Autotune"style

I wouldnt pay very much for this though. But since a pitch correction is already available it shouldnt be too hard for AIR to come up with something simple yet effective.

A magentic pickup type distortion

Could maybe be just an additional forth mode in the fx plugin that has the "hard" "soft" and "wrap" distortion curves ( not sure what it is called)

I do think a little house keeping would make the OPX4 more intuitive. As mentioned above, getting all the tabs on to one screen would help. There are only 6 tabs to a screen and when more than 6, one is sacrificed for a next tab/previous tab icon > <. So moving to from the main screen to modulation page 2, means pressing > 4 times, then Modulation, then modulation page 22, 6 presses. By combining the 10 tabs into 6, Page 2 of modulation would only be 2 presses away. Setting up an Macro on Main, is 6 presses to the Mod page and then 4 presses back to Main page to check the response. That gets tedious fast.

I also find have the Mod Matrix on page 5 of the Operator page is a little clumsy when setting up a new patch. It seems more intuitive that it's displayed First on the Operator tab, so it's next to the Main Page, and you then press the number of the operator for individual operator settings.

The envelopes display and can be adjusted on each operator page, but to make fine adjustments you go into the Envelopes. I think this should be the next Tab, before filter/LFO/Utility. If you are on Operator 3 that is press patched to Envelope three. Then pressing Envelope should take you to Envelope 3 and vice versa. That would make it a lot smoother.

Main/Settings
FM Matrix/Op1/Op2/Op3/Op4
Env1/Env2/Env3/Env4/Env5/Env6
Filter/LFO/Utility
Submix/Sample
FX1/FX2/FX3/Gl.FX1/Gl.FX2

a novation Launch Control really irons out a lot of the OPX4's issues though. :-D

My MPC One says Akai Professional on it. The sampler in it should already be the Pro version. Them expecting me paying to make My Akai Professional Sampler and Professional Sampler seems to be taking the mickey a bit.

Paying for other plug-ins I have no issues with.

It was more of joke :|
Some users want it to have more advanced sampling features, some of the new features like adding 4 more sample pad layer is a step in the right direction. Hopefully 3.0 will more improvements.

I'm presuming after inmusic aquiring moog that there is going to be a lot of new plugins coming soon... and I doubt they'll be free :)

I could probably live with 'pro deluxe plus' versions of apps as long as it's a smaller add on price than the initial purchase and not a whole new purchase at higher price point. If it was just another full priced plugin to unlock the full functionality of the original then I probably wouldn't buy any new plugins for a year or 2 after release because the grift would be too obvious.

emdog wrote:Pro version of the sampler

Absolutely no, and it pains me to see people pushing a narrative where paywalling core functionality into IAPs is becoming normalised. The MPC is a £1000+ sampler, provide me the best possible hardware integrated sampling experience for the (very high) price of entry and I'll happily buy extra plugins to fund that and to add new options around the edges of the core product that I paid more than £1000 for.

emdog wrote:Clone of Torso electronics S-4

I could live with emulations of other hardware workflows since it's a bit of a novelty and the value add is that to have that workflows own hardware would be much more expensive than the plugin. Long as it plays into the character and flow of that device rather than paywalls core MPC sampling functionality.

emdog wrote:All Fabfilter plugins with side chain ability

I'll pay for that.

Monitoring tools are a good shout. I'd love a really good oscilloscope with lots of inputs and comparisons. Defo pay for that.
