MPC Software 3??

I feel stupid but I cannot see any infos concerning MPC 3 Software that should come along the MPC3 standalone major update. Desktop will stay on 2.xx while hardware I movie to v3?

i am not sure it has been released yet, but not long ago 2.15 was released along with the new stems separation ($10) in the standalone mode.

Your are correct, it is not stated explicitly , on the website, so one can only speculate, that a desktop version will be out (for controller mode), like it was with previous versions so far. Unless they have change their GTM strategy.

Some guy on youtube with early access to the 3 software for standalone asked Akai and they replied the software version isn’t happening until 2025.

So I forecast the stable MPC HW 3 will be released together with the software version 3 at the same time; by 2025...

Yeah that all seems like part of the plan.
I like the software version so I'm a bit disappointed it's so much further out but I get that the hardware version isn't worrying about Mac, Windows, VST3 and AU. I'm hoping the VST3 version is a little more stable as a plugin as well.

Mostly it's pretty crazy how full of an ecosystem there is for the standalone at this point. An Amp emulation pedal like Tonex plus a mic pre and you're set.

Well I don't see how they could release MPC 3 as VST 2 and AU only? I mean they're literally the last plugin on my system that's still VST2 only.

Plus it explains why they're waiting an extra 4 months at least for the MPC3 software.

From what i know and i am not a expert but they are most likely just testing that it works with the hardware and the case of this is in the fact that the mpc when in controller mode has to be at the same software as the computer app so this may be why and also it is a testing faze so it is just making sure that the mpc can run it before getting it out to a computer because the computers can run it easily but they want to know if it has any problems with the hardware I personally own the mpc and have 3.0 on it and no problems but i have the key 61 it may be different for different people working with the other mpc devices out also the first mpc 1 may be better off now with how they manage samples so it is a good time to get your hands on one if you have never used one before just go to reverb.com to know more

My wish is that Akai steps up to a new level with the software as well.
Today there is Controller mode and Hardware mode.
How about a third mode where the hardware connects similar to Elektrons Overbridge?
The hardware does all the heavy lifting but can be controlled via software.
It would also mean being able to both sync and transfer/record audio streams via USB.
The best of both worlds.

Yep, this would be best, there's no reason to not use the CPU on the hardware, and the weird disparity between the two is annoying, I shouldn't have to have libraries on the computer when I have a 2TB SSD in the MPC!

Mostly just looking forward to the VST3 being stable though, the MPC VST2 one of the least stable plugins on Mac OS Sequoia.

Most definitely!
Considering the fact that Steinberg released the VST 3 format in 2008 (!) and discontinued maintenance of the VST 2 SDK in 2013 it really seems crazy not supporting VST 3 in 2025.
