Recently I’ve been thinking getting a mpc 2000 or XL. I’ve been using only ableton and reason for many years and want to switch things up. One thing I was thinking about doing if I find I don’t like chopping samples in the 2000 is to record vinyl directly to my computers audio interface and chop in serato sample because of how flexible it is and how quick you can chop and separate instruments if needed and then record the chops back into the mpc for sequencing. My question is has anyone tried something’s like this. Would it sound any worse by having the vinyl go through the audio interface and to the daw and then back out to the mpc vs going directly from vinyl to mpc?
