Have you been following the 3.0 rollout? Or any recent updates in the last few years? They know their demography

yah, this is really sad, not for just this particular product line, but because it means the end of an era, i doubt they will ever go back to a classic mpc structure after this.
at this point i hope the german clone king will take a shot at the mpc world (the linn drum clone is near completion it seems...)
but i'd love to see the mpc going forward, i'm not a retro purist, very far from that!
just leave whats good and relevant in place ffs!!!

And here we go again

It's all good IMO, having the MPC stand alone and on the computer is 100% the best of both worlds here. The fact there are a dozen instruments available for the stand alone is icing. I'm looking forward to the open beta but I do wish it was rolling out the opposite, in the MPC 2 software first then on stand alone. That way if it truly messes with the workflow of the MPC you would have a perfect test environment. That's life though.

Another thing, it really does seem like they did not update the way you change time signatures in stand alone, at least not a soul has mentioned it. It's a bit of a fiasco on stand alone, and dead easy with the software in controller mode.

of course they will not bring back time signature management, if you really observe how things move, the direction is clear: dumbing down. very few people use time sigs other than 4/4 anymore so why t f bother? damn, i know i sound really like a grumpy grandpa but i'm really pissed off.

''The beta will go public once they complete the private testing stages. A public beta needs to be at a certain level of 'polish' and have a finalised feature set''

This is particularly true when the beta is going to be applied to hardware. A software beta you can run the beta and the original side by side, I am not sure the MPC beta will let you toggle between them in that way, so the beta needs to be 'very' stable!!

Not really, you guys are the ones overhyping yourselves. Akai hasn't promised or said shit at this point other than 'Here sign up for a beta that's coming'.

Nowhere did they tell you WHEN you'll get it, never did they even remotely hint that it might come out anytime soon either.. You're all reading way too much into it and making yourself upset over it. Akai's been busy doing their actual internal beta testing as usual.

At the end of their Overview video (3 weeks ago), Andy stated that it would be available as a public beta "in the coming weeks," whatever that means . It's vague, to say the least.

Who knows ... it might be that Akai would have released the public beta a week or so ago, but then they saw all the negative comments here and said ... "Nah, let's do some more work on it ..."

I really wish there was ONE more update before 3.0, that added disk streaming. They seem to treat it like something no one cares about, but EVERY touring musician I know is looking for a solid live performance device that can handle backing tracks/stems while having clock sync. At this point, I use my MPC Live as a multitimbral Keygroup player (full of custom key groups of gear I don't want to ever tour with), and a backing track player. I'm still thinking of selling it and getting an Idoru stem player (it's also nice for performance since it's in a pedal format and uses foot switches, and multiple outs for sending to house), coupled with a 1010 Tangerine, if I can confirm that the Tangerine will playback my MPC Keygroups, using ConvertWithMoss. Though the Tangerine does not have a filter envelope, which is insane to me, and I think that may really mess with the sound of my current MPC Keygroups. That being said, I also really cherish the Audio Interface support feature, and use the hell out of it with my K-Mix. I recently tried to connect my Arturia 16-Rig, and no dice. If I could get the 16-Rig (and the extra 16 inputs I have connected via ADAT), the 3.0 arranger would be REALLY tempting.

That would make sense, otherwise I don't see the point of stating "weeks" rather than months only to let people hanging for no particular reason.

Yeah the track mute backlash was pretty loud.

How TF did any tester not mention this? I'm afraid the people who get to be early testers are just Yes men.

They should be paid, i.e. not end users, but professional beta testers. These days it seems like people do it for free...

Well you can currently change the time signature in a track in stand alone, it's just buried and awkward AF. But yeah I'm unfortunately convinced you're right, they're not worried about it, so it's probably the same idiotic add measures in new signature, then delete old signature BS.

Hopefully you're wrong and they snuck it in to regular track management like it is in the software on the PC. Just most of these influencers don't notice because all they do is 4/4. :x

How TF do people know the testing team DIDNT mention it? You're all freaking out over a beta release that isn't even public yet, has already changed since it WAS released, and have absolutely NO idea what is going on with the whole program.

Seriously folks relax, you might live longer.
