Have they signed something specific that forbids them to discuss the outstanding midi bugs, note off & MTC etc?

I don't know what type of deal the influencers agreed to, but beta testers cannot talk about what issues we may or may not be discovering. I suspect it's the same for influencers. Talk about the MPC3 features Akai have chosen to highlight in their videos, everything else, keep it to yourself.

But as I said before, these influencers are on the whole, not testers, so stuff like this isn't even on their radar, people are giving them far too much credit. Their job is to make marketing videos in exchange for free MPCs, not relay the inner workings of the private beta.

Must be a pretty easy deal.

We’re well aware of what he did here, that video is exactly why I said ‘on the whole… ’.

I guess he has a deal with akai where he’s allowed to make a video about every bug he’s ever reported.

It’s seems like such an epic waste of time to go through all of the trouble making a YouTube video on a bug… in a beta. In fact, in that video’s comment section on almost the same day Bolo posted the video - Andy Mac chimed in and said the bug was already fixed for the public beta. :hmmm: Frigg’n YouTubers, man. Just… :smh:

Yes, not helpful at all. The point of the private beta is you test, report and leave the rest to Akai to get on with. I get that people can feel attached to a particular bug and really want to ensure it gets fixed, but if all the beta testers start daily posting up every bug they find in an attempt to force Akai's hand then the whole process breaks down.

Rather than making videos about one bug, spend more time testing and filing actual bug reports.

Yeah I don't get it, but I really don't understand influencers in general? I don't understand why it would make sense to make a bug video about a beta? Now if Akai handed you the release candidate and the bug was still there, go for it, if your NDA allows you to. Nothing wrong with informing people of actual issues, but this is just drama for clicks.

It could be that he was instructed to make that video. Because I don’t believe that they are allowed to say things that could hurt them..

Also the claim that they are drip feeding out the beta so their servers don’t crash is of course ridiculous, do people actually believe this? Servers can be upgraded at the flick of a switch when demand requires it, it’s all cloud based

They are not drip feeding the public beta, they are currently giving the private beta to the private beta testers and to the usual influencers.

LOL people were claiming that?? The beta downloads aren't even hosted on their own servers, and none of the public testers are going to be allowed into the beta forums (which would need A LOT of folks on at once to even remotely cause an issue). Man people really need to get a life..

This is not going to be a public beta, just a regular release with a lot of bugs.

The beta is just a disclaimer "hey, I told you it was gonna crash

Yea, even though many bugs could be found etc, it's also a way to get a lot of talking and videos made about it.
Influencers gets views and AKAI is in the spotlight while having the excuse of it being a "beta", as bitermc said.
Basically free advertising.

And even though feedbacks can be chaotic, it's also a way to test it with a far greater pool of users once the bigger bugs are ironed out in the closed beta.
I see no real downsides for AKAI to do things this way.

This is exactly how I see it.

This is such a lame release cycle for a big update. Create hype for a major update, tell people they'll get to try it in the coming weeks, then go radio silent for a month while the hype fizzles.
Also, most of the influencers are just making low effort videos recycling the same information. Can't believe it took almost a month to hear about the Arp changes
