Output volume of 5,6 too low when using MPC as sound card

Hi guys,

I'm using the MPC as a sound card together with Traktor DJ studio.

I'm using balanced cables to connect the Jacks to the Tulip inputs of the Pioneer DJM-700 Mixer.

Channel 1,2 and channel 3,4 have great sound but 5 and 6 is very soft. The impedance seems to be different. Is there anything I can do about this?

The mixer has Line, CD and Phono connections. The Phono output sounds like an old FM radio. The CD and Line are very soft, I have to turn up the volume all the way.

Is this just a limitation of the MPC or can I change the impedance somehow without it sounding distorted?

No, you can't change the impedance. From what I have read, 1 and 2 are on one set of chips, and 3-6 are on another. Assuming no physical issues, there ae no reasons that these outputs should have lower levels.

With that mixer, I would use channels 1, 3, and 4, each set to Line level. Phono is guaranteed to sound bad.

Also make sure you are using proper TS to RCA cables, not balanced. The RCA (Tulip?) connection is unbalanced, therefore there is no need to have a balanced connection at the other end. In fact if that cable is wired incorrectly, it could cause a drop in signal level.

There are no drivers / settings for the external audio interface so I can't change it like that.
I cannot change the volume inside Traktor for the individual channel.
The cables are balanced but wouldn't make an improvement to have unbalanced.

It's not possible then?
