Hi, lampdog
I've bought a secondhand MPC key 61 in pristine condition for 800 euros. Got already an MPC X. Do you use them separately or together ?and if so, what's your settings please. I've tested with Ableton link but they don't begin to play at the same time.

I don’t use or connect X and Key61 together, there’s no point in that for me.
I connect Subsequent-37 or Kronos2 for keys control whenever I need it.
They both have a better feeling keybed than Key61.
I don’t use Ableton at all.

So you use theme separately. Sometimes I use the key 61as a controller if I wanna work with x use it's internal sounds and sometimes standalone.
Got a Roland fantom 6 ex and the key 61 and surprisingly I found the key bed of the 61 not that bad to compose. Don't use Ableton either, just wanted to link two MPC if I wanna jam with the Ableton link (sync option)

I “could” use the Key61 midi’d to X but I rather use Kronos2 or Subsequent-37 because of the many many knobs that control other midi as well. I can also connect those keyboards via usb cable (old school printer usb2.0 cable) to X.
