Akai basically said.......

"Hey...Sorry you guys! We know we said it was coming real soon, BUT our Beta Testers found a couple more things that's F*cked Up. We don't wanna rush this one out for you Impatient Mofos to Whine about Later, so we're Tightening up a couple Loose Screws.

Yes...We know the same Mofos that Whine about everything Else, will Whine about our Team being Pro-Active, and Transparent about this FREE SH*T we're bout to roll out. Hey Guess What...for your Inconvenience, The Funds for Research and Development WILL NOT be passed down to you guys. We're Giving You A FREE Software Update for ALL MPC Devices! We're Sure You'll Complain About That, Too!"

AKAI Support Team!

Not disagreeing with you at all. However, at some point the collective needs to realize Akai did this to themselves. It's a case of awful everything.

If Akai can fix those 2 bugs then I'll be one happy dude.

The note off bug messes with my workflow, but what's the Audio Interface Mess, is this a new thing in MPC3 or something carrying over from 2?

I assume he just means the unreliable interface support, cracking and popping on theoretically compatible interfaces, no support for 48kHz devices etc. Not sure how much of that is related to limits or issues within Linux itself.

Maybe they should release their own high quality interface with guaranteed compatibility. Could they not just effectively repurpose the MPC X audio guts into an interface with built in USB hub? Pretty sure plenty of One+ and Key 37 owners would snap that up.

I'm going to presume that MPC3 is not a top-down re-write, so, many elements of 2.0 will still be there, so will these issues be addressed after what...three years?!?!?

Again what exactly did Akai do? Did they set a date in stone and miss it? Did they promise everybody it would be ready by Labor Day?

All they did was say 'in a few weeks'. That could be 2 that could be 20. The users are the ones overhyping themselves thinking something is just around the corner, when nobody has said anything of the sort, except the one moron who thinks he's the Akai Nostradamus nowadays.

This & that!

I suggested they make their own audio interface years ago. It would cool if they offered different models with one up to 32 ins/outs. Imagine that shit with working flawlessly.

The weird world of influencers and hucksters who surround Akai's brand is really unpleasant to pay attention to, even a little. I think that's where a lot of resentment from some comes from. You could ignore it, and many do 99% of the time, but from the outside looking in this felt like a real moment that you needed to pay attention to. Personally I think they could dial it back on the influencer marketing, but whatever.

Its a Case of Effective Marketing! Akai has us on the Edge of our Seats, hanging on to our MPCs. Some users are actually considering purchasing a 2nd MPC. One for 2.x AND One for 3.x.

Having two Separate MPCs running two Separate Firmwares is my plan!

Potential MPC users are buying New MPCs solely off the 3.x Hype.

Hook, Line, and Sinker!!!

Those thumbnails with open mouthed faces are because that’s what generates clicks and algorithm recommendations. It has little to do with self indulgence or brand. They are just doing what the algorithm says to do.

At that point... why not have an MPC and a Force? Clips are much nicer on the Force than the MPC. I get size differences and all that though...

Truth be said about the Force. Especially if you don't mess with boom bap that much anymore (like me). I have kinda regretted getting the mpc, even more so now that clip programs are off the menu

Havent followed the discussion lately, but in case no one said this:

that the public issue is delayed is really a good sign in my book, it means someone there is taking things seriously and doesnt just follow blindly a marketing plan.

There is "Hofstadters Law", which says that "things take longer than expected, even if you take Hofstadters Law into account".
You can not "win" ignoring that law.
