This is not intended behaviour and I am unable to recreate this - I've disabled wifi in both my MPCs and the beta continues without any issues. Have also rebooted with wifi disabled and no issues at all.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'it doesn't work'? What is happening?

whot?

cannot believe it

so my device becomes useless when i work remote or don't want to give AKAI access to my network?
(or when i go to controller mode ; it jumps back to 2.15)

Anyone else noticed that if you hold shift while midi information is coming in it will sustain any existing notes and not receive any more until you release it?

Is this intentional we reckon? Feels like pretty weird behaviour as it means if you have external sequencers coming into the MPC it gets super glitched out while you’re trying to work on anything.

lol
I do live in north UK but not that far north
anyway you were right on the „ish” part so I’ll give you half a point :-D
Polish is the right answer.

Ah Polish, I couldn't place the accent. I literally have nothing for why I got that in my head.

Leeds is the farthest North I've lived, 7 years.

MPC3 seems to allow recording more than 5 minutes on an audio track through disk streaming. The sampler can also be set for up to 60 minutes.

I checked this out more and while holding shift during sending any external MIDI into the MPC, no more MIDI data is received (current notes will hang/sustain, no new notes triggered).

Am I wrong here and it's supposed to work like this? There's a setting to change the behavior? I've submitted bug reports in the meanwhile.

On the plus side, MMC start/stop now works :)

I had an issue a while back with shift (on MPC2) but I wonder if it the same thing. It turned out I had changed a setting (which I had kind of guessed it was my fault). I wonder if this setting has changed when moving to MPC3. B-Wise provided the solution, maybe worth a chack.

"Go into the Preference MIDI menu & turn off Control of different devices until it stops. Shift stop acts as a MIDI kill switch for when the MPC is the slave. If you press Shift before you press play on the Ext device, the MPC seq won't play."

… further to my last post (which I can see nobody cares about, but I have to vent somewhere as it’s really messed up my approach to working)… on a conventional drum track the only way now to see all the pads and what’s loaded onto them in a given bank is via the pad color page, or the pad mute page. What a weird workaround for something so obvious and integral to the original design of the MPC.

Cheers for the insight -- have reproduced that behaviour, problem here is that control data and note data is being received on the same input.

I reckon I can work around this with some complicated MIDI routing and extra cable into the second port, although it's not that great for being portable with the device so hopefully I can find a better solution to be able to synch and sequence on one cable.

Never had an issue with this on MPC 2 so lets see.

Update had new converters. Sweet! /s

But for real I did notice that pitch shifting in Track Edit sounds better

Just loaded up YA Mastering Template on the new MPC 3 beta and so far so good.Everything seems to be working properly except my Audio Input assignments and my external controllers custom mappings.
So you’re good to go..
Time to keep it rolling!I’ll be working on the new YA version 3 update which will include a special DJ template for any DJ out there (myself included) who wants to take it for a spin :P
Cheers!

I am really curious on how are you going to handle the track selection on your dj template. Especially now that the removal of clips have left very little on the "live-mash up - remix" side of things

Thanks for putting me on the right track here -- by disabling control on all MIDI inputs, it solved the problem. The MPC still responds to MMC start/stop and MIDI clock with control disabled on everything so it's problem solved here :D (and a big step forward from 2.15 where MMC did not work)

Interesting that clip programs are gone -- seems like a pretty big loss to the platform of a feature that would have benefited from disk streaming. I'd guess they'll probs come back in time? I'm not particularly bothered as of right now as I rarely used that feature and didn't put much time into learning it. Will revisit it if/when it comes back.

Am quite liking what I'm seeing in this MPC3 beta build so far. Exciting to be on an MPC platform with a few of the longer term breaking MPC2 bugs resolved and which will presumably be seeing active development on free updates for a while at least. Looking forward to when it becomes a long term stable platform release, but for now it's hit at a time between important live commitments and I'm looking forward to the journey with this piece of software.
