You can't use the old workaround by adding new bars to a sequence with the time signature you want and then deleting the 4/4 bars - there's no option to input what time signature you want. Seems like a pretty major omission to me, and I know it is to a few people on facebook.

Bug report filed.

And if you have projects with non 4/4 time signatures, back them up before opening them in this new version! they will get converted to everything being in 4/4, sometimes with "interesting" results.

One thing the Force has though is the clips can set any end time, so you do have effectively other time signatures. I don't think it really works well if you're jumping between 9/8 and 4/4, but for most meters it works.

Key 61:

Making a new recording: after the count in the first note or notes doesn't get recorded... you have to play intentionally late and then move the notes on the grid so that they are on the 1st beat.

It is as if the 'capture window' is too small. I thought I was playing 'early' but this is not the case. If you play bang on the beat it does not register. Anyone else?

I have reported this to Akai.

To be specific a Force clip can be as small as 24 ticks & can go up to 12,600 bars. They even do uneven shit like 1.3.1 bars. They can be set to play on beat from 1/64 to 8 bars or play without quantize to do offbeat loops or one-shots.

Downgraded back to 2.15, wifi works as expected. Upgraded to beta 3.4.0.80 both with USB drive and PC method, can no longer connect to wifi. Tried reseting preferences, did not resolve. Ethernet cable works as expected.

My Live 2 connected & activated fine over wifi here.

Upgrade to v3.4 was done via usb drive.

Out of blue I had same problem yesterday (an hour of my life lost), my mpc crashed (looper crash again) and upon reboot everything went back to factory defaults (startup project etc..). Wifi couldn't connect and when I clicked "forget this network" or whatever it is called and reselected it didn't want to accept my password, same with connecting to my phone hotspot (wrong password) etc... the wierdest thing was that each time my wifi was (sort of) connecting but not obtaining IP address, my control surface was going out - pads were dark all buttons not responding etc... essentially it was either/or, wifi vs control surface lol.
Solution was to.... flick on and off and then connect anything via... bluetooth, after that everything went back to normal :WTF:

does that mean the whole retrospective record does not work anymore?

MPC Live 1

Had two crashes opening an MPC 2 project. Hard to reproduce but it always happened in arrangement view of a relatively big sequence (more than 60 bars). After a few seconds screen went black, control surface stopped responding and the "Oops! MPC recovered from an internal error" message appeared. The first time the machine rebooted the empty project, the second time it froze and I had to force the shutdown. On rebooting the screen froze at the MPC splash screen until I connected the unit to the power supply. No idea what's triggering the crash.

MPC One

I’ve had a number of disconnects from the Model 12 mixer, currently doesn’t seem to be a pattern of why it happens. De/re selecting it in prefs usually brings it straight back.

Also, I’ve seen 3 different onscreen references to clips. Either they’re refining them, or there’s left over stuff from porting from the Force.

With 3.0 I'm no longer able to load my sequences from my 2000xl via a SCSI drive. The programs and sounds load but the sequence doesn't. Anyone else dealing with this issue?

Individual sequence loading not supported, doesn't even load individual SXQ files. Hopefully just ironing out something.

Haha, I successfully connected to 2 Bluetooth devices (iPad and OP-1f) and still get the WiFi password error. Tried home network (TP Deco) and iPhone hotspot too! Hopefully the next beta resolves it…

It just happened again :WTF:
The MPC was set aside as I was on my laptop, suddenly screensaver turned on (blurry desktop) and a minute later this pop up came out. DIDN'T EVEN TOUCHED IT !!!
Will let you know the steps to recover in an hour or so

Hey, so I made a temporary “no password” guest WiFi network and that actually works. I’ll report to Akai. I tried downgrading and upgrading again, but still can’t log into a secure network.
By dustyslices Sat Sep 07, 2024 6:31 pm
It works again, I switched off all radios (wifi & BT), pressed Forget, left it for 5 mins, turned on wifi tap my network with shift held to ensure its not connected, connected to it, entered the password and voila i'm in :)
Hard to pinpoint what caused it as it was literally sitting on the side doing nothing, will have to monitor my network to check if its sending anything when idle (maybe this cause some issues) or maybe it's going into some power saving mode (I was running on batteries both times). :hmmm:

MPC One:

In MPC3, the looper now starts playback in sync with the sequence. However, even with a recording pre-count, the looper immediately begins playback when the play button is pressed.

Additionally, in MPC2, the looper was quantized to the sequence length, but in MPC3, it is quantized to one bar, which makes it much less convenient to use.
