Mpc live on new projects 3.4

I notice track mute mode acts differently since update it acts now like a real mute as if you were muting a track on a mixer.

In 2.5 it would mute the following note that was gonna be played and let you hear the tail of the note being played when u press mute

Anybody else is bothered by that or has a solution?

I understand that now programs are tracks but it makes the workflow of sequencing a quick draft live with track mute a big pain

Also the new colours yellow and orange are a strange choice
Yellow and red was just fine...

Thanks

The workaround is to route a midi track into the original track and use the midi track for sequencing/muting

Double the slot occupation for each track will make the track mute and track mix screens confusingly crowded with useless squares. I expect to be unhappy about that - resamples, MIDI loopbacks & co. are crowd enough.

I understand the probable technical root of that change, unifying audio and midi tracks - but still, user expectations should trump that: does anyone expect their mutes to abruptly cut tails ?

Also yes, color contrast please !

Did you fill out the report to Akai? This is a beta and that would be more helpful than starting a new thread on something that has already been discussed to death in the week it's been out.

That sucks. On the Force you can go into the preferences on change the type of muting from audio or MIDI.

To help with the over crowded tracks in the mixer screen can't you move all the MIDI doubles towards the end or whatever. Not the best way but it could be helpful. Hopefully Akai will fix this.

I thought of that but, on the Track Mute screen I would want the MIDI tracks on the "main" page - and on the Track Mix page I would want the corresponding "audio" tracks there... So, this organization might help a little - but not much.

On force mutes would only get recorded into arrangements iirc. i wonder how that will pan out on mpc.
