Red MPC Live?

Damn I'm eagerly awaiting an update on the Live -- it's an almost perfect MPC model for me and I want to pick up a second device, but defo want to wait out a hardware update before I do. Hopefully it's not too far in the future.

Don't really need any new features but I'd like to see a bit of future proofing tech wise and hopefully be able to reduce the form factor a little -- it's ooooonly just small and light enough to fly with. I'd actually love it if they released an updated more portable Live with the same IO, that ditches the speaker and battery, although I like the convenience enough that if they could just manage to manufacture down the size and weight a tiny bit more, it'd already be so much more transportable.

Have contemplated grabbing an MPC One+ but lack of a hardware update in the model (I don't need it right now but for a little future proofing as they add more advanced plugins) and very minimal I/O (I could compromise on MIDI and USB but only 2 outputs is tricky) is just too much compromise on it for me. Four outputs and 4GB+ RAM and I'd definitely have been all in on that.

For me it's inputs. I'd rather 6 inputs than 6 outputs.

I would love more inputs too, but the situation where I'd be alright plugging in an audio interface for more inputs is a studio environment where I have tons of options around to plug in and the convenience to do it, while the situation where I'd need more outputs is live or in the field where I really don't want to carry extra hardware and cabling to set up.

For me, taking the Live out of the studio with a handful of synths that can plug into the the Live direct and make use of it speaker and effects and mixing would be more handy, without having to lug an 8 input USB interface with the extra cabling and psu would be more handy.

What do you use the outputs for live? Submixes?

Splitting internal and input sources out so that I can send different instruments to different stage amps or external processing, and letting a FoH engineer have control of all levels on the desk. Also sometimes sending a channel out to an onstage submix with a click or guide markers or even on an extremely rare occasion have sent out an analogue clock to external gear (usually can use the CV outs for this).
