Hi guys,
Newbie to the forum and something strange has happened to my mpc key 61
Been using mpc 3 beta for a few weeks and went to use it the other day and none of the factory expansions show up and my internal drive only reads as 2gb!I still have all the plug-ins instruments but nothing is showing up on the browser for expansions
I contacted akai and they have sent me the factory content auto run folder which I downloaded on to a usb stick and tried in the mpc but it doesn’t do anything,it just starts up as normal.i have contacted them again but do you think the internal 32gb sd card may be faulty?I have just ordered a ssd to put in it so if it is can I put the factory content on that instead of the internal storage?
Thanks
Chris

Yeah they literally use an sd card in some of the units rather than emmc for content storage. I have had sd cards melt in the socket of my mpc one. They are tempermental it seems. tbh you're better off yanking the internal sd right outta the thing (or ignoring it) then loading up your own ssd with all the content you want. would be a much more stable alternative.

where (if not on the sd card) is the mpc OS stored?

So akai got back in touch and they seem to think it’s a software issue with me updating to the beta 3 although I’m not so sure!
Anyhow bought a ssd and put that in the mpc and have exported the expansions to that so I’ve got them all back now

on the EMMC chip. its a non volitile programable soldered to the mainboard.
