I'm not sure what the plans are with sequences as you also cannot load sequences (SXQ) anymore (other than via an MPC2 project import). I assume it's down to the 'multiple tracks using the same program' issue.

It says you should be able to go to Menu -> Save and “Tap Sequence to save the current sequence.” This would be just like in MPC2, but . . . . the "Sequence" option is not displayed in the save window in the MPC . Also, it's not displayed in the screenshot in the guide either.

I don't like to assume, but it is likely they've actually done away with this functionality and just missed removing that line in the Quickstart guide.

The project folders under MPC3 no longer contain individual SXQ files like in the previous version, so maybe that architecture had to be abandoned when they added Arrangements and redesigned the track/program relationships.

Note: I've reported this to Akai as an issue, as it is at least an inconstancy with the documentation..

Sampler is broken unless I'm in a fresh project.

After saving a project, I can no longer enter Sampler mode - I get the error "Failed to prepare recorder. Please check temporary path in preferences and memory use." Doesn't happen when I start a new project, only after I save it and re-open in later.

Followed some advice on Reddit and I went into Settings --> Project Load/Save and set Temporary File Location to my SD card ("/media/MPC LIVE/MPC LIVE/tmp") but the issue persists.

Running v3.4.0.105 beta on an MPC Live.

Is it expected that exploding a track creates a track for each mute group even when it has no events in it?

My MPC One gathered dust because I git frustrated by too many crashes and so I didn't got too far into the MPC workflow. So maybe it has always been that way.

No it’s a bug, I’ve previously reported it

Not a bug, but a feature request:

I find flipping/swiping through pages in the mixer to be a bit tedious. maybe reserve a section of the screen for some tabs to access each page. something like a small strip along the left edge of the screen, 4 tabs - tracks, submixes, returns, outs.

Otherwise, I love working with this style of faders. Being able to fade in-out multiple channels as one would on a normal mixer is a much better experience.

Anyone else not able to start a blank project? I load up the demo, go to menu, and select new project, but it freezes for a while and then reboots itself.

In the mixer view just press the corresponding pad of the sound/track/fader to focus the screen there

Yeah that works. I'm referring to access to returns, submixes, and outputs. I find swiping a little clunky for quick access to the other pages. I did discover that while in the mixer, you can hold the MAIN button and a screen will pop up that allows you to change the mixer view somewhat quicker. Interesting feature.

How about making some faders to be sticky? ie they show up all the time wherever you swipe.
Could be useful for master, return or certain submixes. We could even have an option to make faders stick to the left or the right.

What also could help is to reduce the number of faders by having the option to hide some of them. Obviously it makes sense for unsed returns or submixes. But I imagine it mght be handy for "helper" tracks that don't need extensive mixing.

To go even further:
We could have track groups that can be shown or hidden with a quick access bar at the bottom of the mixer.

I think the best way is use the bank buttons, those buttons are not too useful while in mixer view, they can be used for more things, by example, Track faders: bank A, Pad faders: bank B, Sends faders: bank C, Returns faders: bank D.

The OPx4 expansion Pro Motion will no longer load for me. I get a ‘checking for licence’ message followed by a confirmation message (but only once I load a factory preset). It says it’s activated and ready to use but loading another preset from it results in another ‘checking for licence’ message etc etc infinite loop.

Have you started on your mpc with your akai/inmusic account?

Yes of course, I’m pretty sure it’s a bug. Waiting on a reply from Akai support.
