Maschine 3 Update...?

I know it's been out for a few days now, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned this:



I mean, this is just the definition of underwhelming. How long has this taken them? And it actually costs money.

Given the current state of NI in general... my best guess would be that the dev team hasn't worked on it that long... it's probably a reflex response to all the other drum machine activity that is happening :/

I wish it was a real threat to the MPCs, just to Spark them to do MPC3 right. As it stands Maschine is a worse choice for time signatures and arranging a song. The only thing it might have on the MPC is Reaktor can be hacked into Maschine+ same with Absynth from what I hear. I would not doubt if it's as crippled as Push 3 though. Plus I didn't see anything about Maschine+, is it even getting this upgrade?

Maschine+ support coming later apparently. TBH I bought the plus 2 years ago as it was being offered at one retailer at a crazy price and have barely touched

its basically dead; and NI killed it, by not focusing on it and instead trying to create eco-system products around it; and living off soundpack money; instead of actually acting on user development requests.

Ugh same boat recently with a standalone Push 3 too cheap to pass up. I've used Live since v3 and Push is pretty cool, but Push 3 is just a sketch pad, no way to construct a song in standalone. It's the kind of mind boiggling short sightedness I will never fully understand that Ableton have been guilty of forever. I suppose it makes for a cool live instrument while the MPC does the heavy lifting, but if MPC 3 gets Clips back it's pretty much just good for Live's instruments. The sad part is I would bet the CPU in Push 3 is about twice as powerful as the one in the MPC Live II here, but it's crippled by the software.
