MPC ONE Glue remainings

Hey there! Recently bought an MPC ONE with a silver skin on, didn't really like it so i took it off, and now there's a bunch of glue remaining pieces around the body of the device. Is there any good way to remove the glue and not scratch the MPC or damage the inside?

From my point of view the best solution is to put another sticker. MPCs have a rubber skin that is going to peel off when removing the glue or just by using it. It is a poor quality feature of these units.

My MPC ONE doesn't have a rubber skin, I have black one (seems powder coated), but there is a post on the new red one having a rubberized finish on the plastic sides, I'm not sure about the red metal parts. I woundn't recommended any cleaning products on rubberized parts.

I've just tested naptha on the rear of mine and it seemed fine, so I tried on the AKAI Logo on the front, and again fine. My Naptha is zippo lighter fluid. You could also test out isopropyl alcohol.

I would just use cotton bud sticks (I think called q-tips in the North America) remove the knobs first and take your time.

Try Goo-Gone, much less likely to cause problems than naptha.

I've never heard of goo gone, just googled it and it seems the active ingredient in their adhesive remover is also a petroleum solvent. I've used naptha for my guitar woods as it's used buy luthiers.

Dont waste money on stupid gimmick marketed products

Just use alcohol. close to 100% as you can get. It will dissolve glues and old adhesive.

i use this when i have label residue on something. just a tiny dot - let it sit for several seconds, wipe off. boom goes the dynamite!

The best solution for glue is mineral spirits, it won't eat anything but the glue. If you're talking the rubberized coating that's going to come off easiest with either denatured alcohol or rubbing alcohol at 90%+

I have a Push 2 and a Keith Mcmillian keystep that had that rubberized coating, why manufacturers use something that turns to mush 3-7 years later is just...


Worst I saw of this though was a friends 03 Maserati, nasty.

dampen a rag in wd-40 and start wiping. (only on black abs plastic and dont leave it in the sunlight after until its dry) wd-40 is an epic degreaser, it is NOT a lubricant as people imagine. I use it to clean the rims on my motorcycle it loosens the brake dust. You'll be surprised at how easy it takes sticker goo or smudges off stuff.
