MPC4000 filter demo

Hi all, I just a read a thread about the mpc filters, and I remembered I tried them out a while ago. I uploaded the mp3s that I made of that test (about 1MB each).

In all 4 mp3s the same source material is treated, a MS20 bass sound from HollowSun playing an ultra-cheesy tune. You can hear the original sound in the start of the first mp3. In all cases a Q-link sequence is tweaking filter cutoff and reso. I can't remember which filters were used in the test, but that's the only thing I changed. In the last mp3 I added some 4k delay.

Oh, play this stuff as loud as possible, to enjoy the lower frequencies.

Quick Run down. You may need to ask specifics on some of the steps if you're not
familiar:

1) Setup Q-Link so that it's knob control the filter cutoff and filter resonance

2) Go to Q-Link Sequence and use the arrow keys and the knobs to set
Q-Link step sequences.

3) use Soft Keys to turn on the Sequence for that particular knob or slider

4) Press the Q-Link sequence button to turn on Q-Link sequence globally

5) You can change which notes type the sequence is playing : 1/4 , 1/8/, 1/16, 1/32
and such and you'll hear and get different results.

Enjoy this is available for any of the internal parts or external synth and can be recorded
to the sequence.

Damn I had to bring this back cuz I`m searching for a way to play the filter envelopes to tailor my tastes. I`m searching all over this boards and any tips are welcome. Thanks in advance. I pick up the idea from reason trying to get the attack, decay, sustain, and release settings I want. I haven`t cracked the fil env r1,r2 and r4 in qlink link yet. It`s gonna be a monster touch on basslines and samples. Hit me back or I will you if I find it first.

So far I worked out that R1, R2, R3 and R4 are the attack, Decay, Sustain and the Release values. L1 thru L4 sets the level and steepness of the angles. Once the cutoff and resonance is set. I adjusted the Filt Env set to cutoff and adjust the Amount to get just the right values. I check again later.

Also reviewed it on ref manual 213.

Update is to set the L2 and L3 to similar values and as close to resonance to get a pumping sound.

Also use the reference field to set at 0. L3, or 100 percent the parameters are on pg 87 of the User`s manual. Now I got to figure how to use it in conjunction with the modulation wheel?
