Yep, you could have an MPC television. do any of those have touch screen and max resolution of 1366*800? That's the one we want for the donor lol.

Monotremata wrote:When the MPC was first being developed they picked a PCB that was already on its way out to begin with hah.

absolutely, the chipset was from 2014, by the time the x released it was 3 years old. not only that armv8 (64bit arm) made its introduction in 2011! It met the bandwidth demands though I bet for the right $$$.

I need to go to california and meet audio tech people and bust through there doors like LETS MAKE NEW KILLER TOYS!!

If you stick to our ViewBoard lineup, those are all touch screens but they're 4K displays haha. You can run it at 1366x800 though. I can probably get all the bootloader info from the devs. I thought about getting like the 55 or 65" model to put on the wall and use with Cubase haha. My boss (the head of all the support department) has one of our 65" CDE commercial displays at home he's using for a TV. With our discount it was cheaper than heading to Best Buy haha.

You can dd all the mmcblk1p* partitions to images to acquire the images needed for your project, what may end up being needed is a custom dtbo from the kernel it gives info on partition schema, however if you clone your partition layout by block and flash all the images it should theoretically work because the partition layout would be proper for the dtbo. fdisk -l /dev/mmcblk1 will give the partition layout by block.

lol get one lets build it haha.

HAH I may have to now just because. I mean shit we ADB into them all the time to reprogram the serials or MAC's when we swap out mainboards (sometimes the factory forgets to prepopulate that shit), just like you can on the MPC haha, positive we can pull all that off there too. When I look inside them it's hilarious. You've got this gigantic 4K 86" or 98" touch screen, and aside from the touch modules hidden in the bezel (which are a pain in the ass to replace/install), there's like 3-4 tiny ass PCB's inside running the whole thing. Main board, TCON, power, and once in awhile there's a separate board for the wireless adapter or the slot-in VPC, but nowadays those are all on the mainboard. Servicing these things is brain dead simple.

Things to think about, updating it will be a nightmare and then here is a bit of a list of things required to get it going but a little elbow grease, luck and motivation, its probably doable.

You may run into problems with the display though, you want to use the embedded display port bus, do you guys use eDP with controller on the lcd panels? if so strike that off the list.

another hurdle will be in the initialization process of the main mpc executable, on init it seeks out the names of the soundcard and midi device and using those two ids it initializes the software to comply with the diff surface controllers and audio cards. However I can help you work around this by building a custom .ko kernel module, we can stub those with loopback modules. then we plug it on system init to trick the software into thinking its a legit system then you just go to settings and switch to a usb card.

for surface controller you can midi map it using the the kikgens ssh midi mapping method and use any controller you have the paitence to map.

Aiight I did not want to start a new thread but wanted to generate more discussion on the possibility of a new mpc model coming out since its time for holiday shopping and such and now that beta 3 is maturing. anyone seen or heard anything?

a new MPC wont drop until the beta is complete; u say the beta is maturing, but do u think it is ready for official release in its current state?

I had always presumed that mpc 3 would release with new MPC hardware in 2025, Q1 or Q2.

yeah of course those with an nda cant say, but my question was more on the lines of has anyone heard anything, seen any fcc docs , etc.. it was just a question.

its called beta for a reason - i do see it maturing , and i also dont think the firmware has to be fully cooked in order for inmusic to release another mpc.

Why ask this type of question?

The people that would know wouldn't most likely say anything & those would say something would've done so already. Stop the being thirsty. Focus your attention on the current MPC. Even when the new models come out the current one doesn't become obsolete.

Why are u demanding that he should focus on; people naturally have interest in whats new and upcoming, no harm in speculating

Why are you always so concerned with what everyone else is focused on? Don't you have some more fake products to go around claiming are dropping any day now? I'm sure there's a rumor of an MPC Mini 3.2 with a VGA output made by three different companies by now you can help spread.

FCC Website has no new MPC hardware. I searched under Inmusic and there were other Akai products there. So if there is new hardware it can't be at the final stage.
