I updated to OS2XL earlier this year and have been having issues connecting to my computer via USB. When I hit the F6 button to mount the connection the following error message is displayed:

USB device not recognized- the last USB device connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.

Holding [Tap Tempo] while booting to load the free OS doesn't seem to make any difference with the USB error. I suppose I could try going back to the AKAI OS to see if that makes a difference but it seems like I should be able to get the connection to work with OS2XL. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Possibly a driver on the Windows side I am missing- this is Windows 10 Home edition.

Thanks!

Hope this isn't insulting but you have tried a different cable and port? As far as I remember the usb connection of that era is class compliant. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Otherwise you might look into replacing the appropriate PCB. I hope it's not that serious.

The only other thing I can think of is that my older computers sometime seem to get overloaded with usb drivers etc and sometimes adding a device won't work. I clean them up with USB Deview and Device Cleanup. They'll show you all of your non-present devices so you can clean that shii up.

Good luck Boss.
