Thank you for your reply.

Despite the update (2.13.0), on my MPC one, I have the problem of no longer having access to this method..
The plugins no longer appear in (Preferences/activate plugins), despite being connected by ethernet...

This is why I ask for a direct link, for downloading... something I also did with "JURA" (link posted on the page concerning "Jura", on this forum)

So, what about this ? Can Flex Beat be automated, or is it strictly a live effect ?

It is possbile to automate this within its limits.

Every pattern is 2 bars long. So you can not start a pattern at a point of your choice. Every pattern starts at an even bar number. You can only switch the pattern whenever you feel like it.

While this makes some sense I wish that they had included patterns that are 1 or 4 bars long.

Strange: in every other way, XYFX is more limited than Flex Beat (Main output only, no automation), but XYFX (which is also a time-based effect) can be started anywhere (tough live only - no automation)... I may get Flex Beat to add silly tape stops without having to resort to resampling to work around XYFX's limitations, but having to start exactly on an even bar would ruin the fun.

I bought it a while ago when it was on sale. My biggest grip with it is that for some reason the developers decided that the 4x4 grid that looks just like the pads, was not going to be controlled by the pads, only the touch screen. :Sigh: :WTF:

I did not notice the bar quantizing, have to mess with that a bit.

Uh ? The sales pitch says "Pads are MIDI controllable using MIDI sidechain input"... But not by the MPC's pads themselves ?

I assume it is because plugins cannot be controlled directly by the pads. Rather unfortunate.

What works is to assign pads of an external MIDI controller to "pad hold" of Flex Beat. Yes, it is really called "hold" (because of the hold mode?).

I was surprised that it is compatible with the FL plug-in.

I opened an XML preset of Flex Beat and look what I have found inside:
