Since I've never actually used the DAW. What's it like? Does it have bugs as well? Are they the same as the stand alone bugs or is there a whole slew of new issues on the windows and mac builds? what's project stability like? All my thoughts about the bad parts of MPC are really only gathered from my experience using it in stand-alone. I actually forget all the time that there's the whole controller mode portion of the device.

I didn't use it that much to notice bugs.

But to me the UI is even more un-intuitive than 2.x. never got the hang of it.

For me the only reason to use it on a PC would be to polish a finished track with VSTs.

Before my Ones touchscreen stopped working making it a $600 paperweight, I had been using it mostly in controller mode for the past year or so. I actually found it more stable. I had never really used controller mode the 7 years prior

New screen would do it. I would first check the cables are connected, the touch screen part is usually a different cable to the display.

I’m a bit jaded with the modern MPC currently so don’t have plans to spend more money on it. My OG live works sporadically (some sort of power issue since the internal battery died. Sometimes it doesn’t turn on)

I opened up the One to check cables etc and everything is good. The screen turns on but the touchscreen doesn’t work. So now it’s eternally stuck on the red controller mode screen

I’ve been currently going through old projects and completing them using the software. Once I have them all bounced to stems I’m probably going to be done with the modern mpcs. Been thinking about going back to my roots with 2000xl or maybe 1000 with jj since I travel for work a lot.

I have used controller mode almost exclusively with the MPC2 software with my One and Live II for about 4 years now. I found that for the most part the software is pretty stable however some parameters and plugins I found induce either complete loss of sound or a crash randomly at times. If I leave those alone it's smooth sailing.
