problem with "automated" playback when recording with plugin

Hey everyone, I’m a newbie to MPC and I’m having a bit of a problem. Whenever I try to record a melody, whether it’s using pads to play samples or playing live with my Akai keyboard’s piano plugin, the recorded track sounds like a robot. It doesn’t have any swing, and it repeats the notes in a robotic way. Each note is played exactly on the beat, without any natural phrasing. I’m sure there’s something that’s turned on to “automate my melody,” but I can’t figure out what it is. Can anyone help me out?

By default "timing correction" (TC) also known as "record quantization" is turned on. Turned it off while you play.

You can use TC also to do quantization on your recorded notes.
