Does MPC tutor have any plans for an AKAI FORCE BIBLE ???

Former MPC-user and owner of the Force for nearly a year. Won't hesitate to buy the Force Bible when it comes out...

Any chance there's been any movement on the bible? And if not, anyone wanna buy a Force?

Perhaps the ship has sailed now, especially as it seems Akai is discontinuing the Force. Hoping I'm wrong but it must be a huge amount of work to write (and update) so there needs to be a large enough market there.

Personally I just resign myself to knowing that I will never know these machines inside out, but if it works for me and I enjoy the results, it's fine. Of course there are excellent Force tutorials out there (Joe Filbrun, Expectaz, Nicethings, Maxipok) and most MPC info (including the Bible) covers 80% of it too. (Confession: I still haven't got into setting up macros, but I know at some point I will!)

I take the same approach to playing live instruments, which is why I'm still such a technically limited but passionate guitarist after 40 years. Punk, innit?

Edit: just ran across an interview with John Mayall (of the Bluesbreakers) from 1970 that sums it up nicely:

What about you as a guitarist? You’ve been playing a Gibson Les Paul. Is that your favorite guitar?

Well, no. I didn’t choose it. The guitar I had before that was a Fender, and it went out of tune. So I told my road manager to get me a new one. So he got me a Les Paul, because he could get one cheap or something. I don’t know anything about those things.

You don’t worry about strings and all that?

Just as long as they’re not rusty. If they’re rusty and you do a slide up the neck, you’ve got a torn finger. I don’t really worry about instruments, because they’re just tools. I’m not proficient enough on them to think that matters. Stick an axe in me hand and I’ll see what I can do with it. It’s as simple as that.

The good thing about the Force being discontinued is that once the Force Bible is made he wouldn't have to worry about updating it lol.

The Force will no doubt still be brought & sold on the used market going into the future, so making it would still be easy money for something you only got to make once & since 80% can be recycled from the MPC Bible, then it may not be as difficult as starting from scratch.

How long ago did he write that?

Unfortunately currently I have no plans to continue work on the Force Bible, these books are just too much work to risk on a single discontinued model with a limited, finite user base, of whom probably 97% are not even interested in buying a course in the first place.

If Akai release a newer Force model and it runs the same(ish) OS as MPC 3.4, then I would reconsider. I see Tom Nice things is still teasing that there is something coming, but no idea if that's just a final bug fix, an ongoing series of updates to coincide with MPC3, or new hardware.
