MPC Live 2 insert fx latency

Hi, I found that my insert effects are adding latency to my MPC.

I have a project with a drum track and a midi track that sequence my prophet6.

I like adding grit to my outputs so i added a mpc60 vintage effect on master which affects the drum track.

When the effect is off everything is in sync, when i turn it on the MPC gets delayed around 4 ms.. If i add more effects it will be even more.

It's not good to have inconsistent sync based on how many effects I have opened and sync to get delayed more or less if i add or remove effects

How can I overcome this?

There is no MIX knob on MPC60 vintage mode

I am not sure what you mean. If you mean to "export" them into audio then it doesn't make much sense in this case as I have the MPC60 vintage mode on my master bus, i don't wanna make it as audio. I wanna be able to change it if I want to...

Nope I didn’t say export and it’s not what I meant.

I use 2.15 on my X and Key61, I don’t have a delay at all when using mpc60 fx on main out fx slots.

I am using 3.4 beta.

It might get me a delay for plugins with 100 %, but if i have no delay on 0% it means 20% will give me dry signal mixed with delayed wet signal which results in phase issues... Or I am missing something?

Then I am not sure exactly what you mean by sending to audio. I just made a template and I can explain how i have it setup.
-7 empty drum tracks that send midi to drum track 8 which has my drumkit. I am doing this to be able to mute specific parts.
-4 midi tracks to sequence my juno106, prophet6 sh101 and virus
-2 tracks for sampling on the MPC

I have 6 subgroups
-1 for kick -> output 3,
-1 for claps and snares + 1 for hats + 1 for percussions -> oputput 1/2
-1 for bassline which has a mother ducker for sidechain, 1 for sounds -> output 5/6

As I see the insert FX latency is channel based so I added same processing on all my outputs, this way I can get at least same delay at the end. If i had the processing only on output 3 let's say, only the kick would have been delayed 2-3 ms.

I made some tests and it seems that all AIR fx don't have latency, but the rest do, especially vintage modes and distortion fx which has around 2ms each instance.

OS Version is the very first thing you need to disclose when talking about an issue...

If you have an issue with the beta then submit that issue to AKAI directly, that's what the beta testing program is for.

The issue mihaipol mentioned isn’t related to OS3 and also occurs in 2.15. It seems that AIR plugins have no latency, while some AKAI plugins do. Using AIR LoFi instead of the MPC60 plugin might be a good workaround.

You can also Flatten or resample the FX into the sample. This shouldn't be the case tho.

Response from Akai usually takes a while and I wanted to check if this is normal behaviour or if there is anything i am doing wrong before contacting them.

Flatten the track is not helping as i am recording songs live, so i need it to be on the grid while still having the mute functions

An idea would be to have a safety delay compensation even when no plugins are used. UAD uses a short delay compensation on all inputs in order to overcome this. Or would be great to delay all tracks with the maximum delay amount so we get consistent track outputs. Right now we get inconsistent track delays depending on what plugins we use on each of them.

If the problem is only with master bus plugins, then you'd at least get a constant delay if you route everything, including the outboard MIDI devices, through the MPC. Use an external USB audio interface with more inputs if needed.

Use Air fx.
They sound better and no latency.
There are many vintage filters options and they are better then Akai ones.
Mind that midi is a bit sluggish on MPC and MPC3 is still on beta, 2.15.1 is more stable.
