Still, asking why anyone would a better reverb in the box is... :Sigh:

That's very possible.
It's time I think that a new gen MPC with 4gb Ram will come out soon, allowing Air to make more complex fx and, as you said, a good quality Reverb.
But still, again, there were good sounding reverbs in the 80s with much less Ram and very basic processors.
But yeah, a 4gb ram Mpc is the next logical step, I don't think it will pass so much time before Akai steps up the game.
Maybe when 3beta will become MPC3?

I only mentioned 4GB because that's the current max on the current gen. I would hope that the new gen would be 8GB, or even better, start at 4GB & be upgradable to 8 or more to fit different users needs.

Isn't it more CPU power that a modern day reverb needs? Thinking especially of IR reverbs.

Too bad - not really ;) - I'm a marketing guy.

Will the launch of MPC3 final and a new hardware MPC boost the marketing impact of other? Or is it more that they steal the show from each other?

I don't really know, I am very bad when it comes to marketing startegies.
I just guess that maybe a new Mpc with more Ram and a stable MPC3 would make sense as a marketing launch.
But I am sure that sooner or later they will come out with more Ram and hopefully this will mean better fx, if I am not confusing Ram with cpu power.

well what is the issue with exporting the stems and adding proper fx in post on a daw? and if we are talking about live performances... can't you figure out a send return setup or run it through your hardware reverb of choice?

I just don't understand why people buy a hardware standalone unit and expect it to be on par or exceed their ableton logic pro expectations... go buy a 3000 dollar mac pro and a DAW license and quit beating around the bush with the 600 dollar mpc one. you get what you pay for. quit being cheap.

This is the kind of answer that I really don't understand.
Honestly, is it not better to stay silent and just avoid the temptation to answer if you don't have anything to say?
The question was: do you think we will have a better reverb with the resources we have or is it just not possible?
Yes?
No?
I ALREADY use an external reverb and I love it, it's written clearly on the first post I wrote.
I was just asking if one day I will be able to travel without external reverb pedal, cables and a small mixer, that's it.
No complains, no anger against anyone.
It's just that current MPC reverb is not that good, as many others confirm.
Happy new year.

:Sigh: :WTF:

I don't think anyone is asking for a reverb that is on par with what you can get in Ableton or Logic Pro - just something that is a marked improvement over the default stock CRAP reverb. When DSP reverbs ran with far less memory and far weaker CPU's back in the 1980's, it's not a far-fetched idea to ponder on existing MPC standalone hardware.

No one is asking for the standalone MPC to host 30 instances of Serum VST or iZotope Ozone 37 Super Awesome Edition. Improved effects is very much in the realm of a realistic ask.

But using it in send/return means you have more cohesion and you just use one instance.
Not by chance reverbs have been used this way since decades and not by chance presets are all at 100% mix, isn't it?

I said "Most" of the Reverbs are Defaulted to 100%

And Yes...you're right...Better Cohesion for a Final Mix.

Reverbs are better in s/r. You can have phase issues and frequency eliminations if you use more reverbs.
And using one (or two) in s/r, you also save on CPU which is good with MPC
Then pad mixer has also sends, so you can add reverb to a single pad with sends.

Not to mention, too much and too many is a great way to turn your mix into utter washed out shit too.

Bake it into samples on purpose?? And you wonder why projects sound like an incoherent mess?

I use Reverb Sparingly. Only if a Dry sound needs a lil bit of space. Like I said before...There is More than One way to Skin a Cat. "Better Sound" is Subjective to everyone's Ears

Yep. But notice that the 99.9% of the music you listen have a reverb on the s/r of a mixer.
And the 0% of this 99.9% has an Air Reverb of Mpc.
