Yes it's a mistake, mp3 is a lossy compression. If you want to save space use a lossless compression like flac but the MPC will re-save these within a project as WAV.

Why not just buy a bigger drive? Storage is cheap, this isn't 1985, there should be no need to reduce the quality of your sound library to save disk space.

There's no point. They will all be converted to .wav files when the project is saved.

Hey
So I`ve installed an internal hard drive in the machine this is actually for the memory card which is loaded with some extra stuff I`ve got, still kept the original files somewhere else, tbh when I`ve done the conversion the program give me many option so the bit rate is very good and I was also able to give some adjustment to the sounds with compression, filters, equualizer etc. so now they sound actually better on a 320 bit rate compared to the original now I`d see when I put them to use once on a project if the machine convert the one i use it`s okay!
my issue is that the expansions ive bought the okay on the pc software but they dont show in standalone mode i have to dig for them in the broswer even tho I`ve followed the instruction when installing them!

also I`m still new and learning so I`m happy to learn, mistake, try & do as I go!!!
