I’ve had this thought many times.
Some things are beyond 4k while many other things are in 4k but missing in modern mpc.

I use it mostly as a sample player.
I use it for work also, to make soundscapes or background soundtracks just mixing samples I made by myself.
It works great for me.
Yeah it's a toy, but it sounds good, makes its job and it can be used as an instrument.
I would not use it alone to make proper music, it's kinda complicated to build songs, too many limitations and the workflow doesn't help.
So I get why some people complain.
As a sample player, I would recommend it. It's an interesting box, portable, now with 2.15.1 very stable, great output sound to connect it with any place mixer and play.
