what is chord memory

CHORD MEMORY IS FUNCTION ON ROLAND GEAR SUCH AS THE 909,FANTOM,JUNOD,IT IS PRESET CHORDS THAT YOU CAN PLAY BY TOUCHING ONE NOTE,

So only Roland has this?
Damn I use that ALOT on my tracks and it wont be on my next piece of equip

On my 2kxl, I use the AUTO CHROM and the SIMULT on individual/all pads to do the same thing w/ a three key chord.

I'm sure if you combine certain features on MPC's you can get that result.

That's why in my post I usually try to say what machine I'm working with so peeps will know that when I give advice it's most likely on 2kxl unless it's common on all mpc's.

Layer with the SIMUL function.

nah i'm using a 1k. same approach though. sorry for duplicating you there, it would appear i didn't read it too closely.

oh man i saw DaVinci of Sol.Illaquists of sound the other day in baltimore performing with sage francis and some other excellent newschoolers...man plays 2 MPC2kxls SIMULTANIOUSLY.

he's utterly insane and the most talented electronic musician i have ever seen or heard.

you can do this with ableton live 4 as well using the midi effects. Actually, you can set the chords in a scale so each note can be a different chord in the scale. Play jazz with 1 finger!

is that with the ' scale ' or ' chord ' plugin.

one of those - you can just fill in the little blocks for each note and have it play it as a chord.
