Akai MPC One Midi Connection- No audio

Hi guys,
Hopefully some can help with my problem.
I have been using the Akai MPC One for a couple of years and recently decided to augment my set up with the Korg Opsix Mk2 Synth. Now, I've tried various options to connect the Korg (using both midi and USB cables with audio in and out) and whilst I can can see I'm receiving a signal into the MPC I just cannot get any audio.
If any one has an answer I'd be most grateful. An idiots guide of a response appreciated

I think you should explain your problem in a useful fashion which you simply did not.

what gear is connected to what and how exactly? Keep in mind that midi is just a remote control protocol and has nothing to do with audio signals.

Simply, I am trying to connect, hear and record a Korg Opsix Synth on my Akai MPC One. I'll like understand how I can hear audio. I've used both midi and USB connections to no avail

Perhaps a bit stupid to ask, but did you also put audio cables from your Korg outputs into the inputs of your mpc?

Yes guys audio, midi and USB cables all connected. Midi signal comes thru, just no audio???. I'm using new audio cables but I think I'll revisit these just in case they're incompatible. Pretty stumped otherwise

You've mentioned that sampler is active, but is the monitoring of the input signal enabled as well?

Yes, it's set to 'in'

Short answer: you need a mixer.

Long answer: you can monitor the Korg through the MPC, but not with the sampler. I mean, you'll hear it, but that's all; you can't do much of anything else. If you really want to monitor your Korg, you need to dedicate an audio track to it. Set the input monitor to In, and you should be good.

You can do all this with two cables (one if the Korg is mono) - just connect the Korg's out(s) to the MPC in(s). If you have done the above, you should be able to play the Korg's keys and hear it through the MPC. (Bonus - you can add effects with the audio track's inserts.) Once thi is workin, add MIDI.

Rule of thumb: if you have more than one instrument, you need a mixer.
