dunno if this qualifies cos not familar with current NI plugins

Yes that NI cloud supply could be direct connection through usb to his laptop and midi to his audio interface.. only draw back is kontakt load times are slow with more libraries you have..

Ya'll need to temper your expectations. NAMM will be 100% software related. Probably mostly MPC 3 stuff, and the aforementioned things that have been floating around in social media screen grabs. Bet any one of ya'all any amount of money, right now.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news; but that blasted MPC Live mini rumour is resurfacing again, this time from a dude posting on the Elektron forums who goes by the name of monsterism; this is what he says:

Product specialist Andy Mac’s opening for Akai at NAMM definitely means a new product announcement. My bet is a smaller, more intuitive version of the MPC and basically a direct competition with the Move. It will likely beat the Move in sampling capabilities and offer more channels but it won’t be as intuitive (because let’s face it, you can’t beat the Move on this aspect) and offer less memory. The latter remark comes from an audio engineer who got to play a bit with the new machine.

Time will tell; dont shoot the messanger; pure speculation that I like to entertain, as I did with the MPC 3.0, which was eventually proven true.

Nothing ground breaking since it will be a low line controller but for on the go MPC users..if that what it is.. :-D

Recently, it seems that Akai has been intentionally leaking information ahead of their product announcements. This suggests that the new MPC feature will likely be an NI sound library, with no hardware announcements expected.

From the screenshots above I think you're right. I'm a bit disappointed it's looking like it's NI ROMPler sound libraries and not InMusics own recently purchased Moog plugin line up. I would rather see Mariana, Model 15, Model D and Animoog, along with the MoogFoogers.

Considering we spotted cloud supply and analog dreams, there are several NI play series coming to the MPC ecosystem. Confirmation Friday maybe.

NI plugins and especially Kontakt are really heavy on CPU and take a lot of Ram. Any Kontakt instrument is made with hundreds samples at highest rate.
I really don't think MPC resources are enough for that, at least in standalone.

InMusic purchased Moog plugins?
Really???

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Plus, in 2019 Dan from Akai mentioned that the MPC/Force merge was part of the plan. They just talking about & most people lost hope, but it's not like MPC3 appeared from nowhere.

Yup, but that's old news now: https://www.reddit.com/r/mpcusers/comme ... maudio_in/

That's an excellent news.
Moogerfooger plugins?
I'd love to see them on Mpc.
Much more then NI stuff, I don't understand all this Hype about NI, I never liked their products, cpu heavy as hell, and too clean and digital sounding.
Do we really need NI stuff on MPC?
I would rather go for Moogerfooger excellent analog sounding plugins.

I rather them do both. Maybe with the NI stuff they can have a less CPU heavy version. Clean/Digital sounds have their pros. They let the users add their own dirt or what I like to call "sonic-seasoning" to make things sound more unique & less like the sound of the company signature sound, which may be what you want, but not always . The Moog analog benefits will get digitize on the MPC, so can only be, like you said, "analog sounding" at best, which can still be dope & a great addition to the MPC/Force.

Honesty, NI stuff would not add anything to MPC, fx are not that good, Kontakt is good if you need real instruments sampled in the best possible format but do people buy MPC for that kind of sounds? And anyway, MPC could never handle those hundreds of samples, they could only make a cut version and so it would become not good as the original.
Moogerfooger fx would add so much to MPC, a luxury LP filter, a luxury analog delay (finally), MURF, a super Phaser, and more. It would give that touch of gritty analogish sound that Air (and NI) are not capable of.
But ok, if they put both, we are both happy.
Deal.
