Cannot match tempo of loop to project on 3.x

Hey!

2 weeks into MPC journey and hit a bump. I'm following a Tube Digga Tut and the 2.x manual to the letter with no results.

I load a loop that is 130bpm. My project is 160. MPC gets the original tempo right. But the 'From BPM' button does absolutely nothing. The screen shows 8 beats then a tune to 120pm option. I don't know where the 120 comes from. On the video the 'From BPM' shows the correct bpm. Why doesn't mine? And hitting 'Match' anyway does nothing to the loop.

Beyond confused. Help would be appreciated

I’m in the same boat as you brother, MPC is quite the learning curve.

Something to try,

Load the sample or loop as a clip program, then hit edit clip to the right and you can adjust the bpm there.

When I did it last night I actually automatically synced to my project but can’t guarantee it’ll do that for you.

What type of music are you guys making at 160 - 130bpm? Is that like DnB or something? I guess some house I mix when I DJ touches 130bpm, but above that is pretty wild lol.

Been using 180-195 for several months now.
