MPC 3.4.1?

Also really weird that they haven’t mapped the q-links (on the X, anyway) in the channel mixer page so the q-links control… the levels of all the channels! Used to be, you went here and hey presto, you had a volume control for each track on each q-link, so you could MIX. Now you have a few parameters for the selected track instead, so you have to use the touchscreen to mix a few tracks simultaneously. I bought the MPC for the hardware functionality of those q-links, particularly for live mixing, and it was a dream for fast, intuitive mixing both in track, channel and pad mixers as they were. I can’t believe they haven’t hardwired at least one of the q-link pages to the mix levels in a sequence (at least they’ve mapped it with the pad mixer). Obviously these linear mixers are here to stay now despite making no sense within the core design of the machine.

It's no longer beta simply because Akai have decided to stop calling it a beta. Many of the bugs from public beta 1 are still there, it's clearly a 'work in progress' and instead of squashing all the known bugs and shoring up all the existing features they've added a whole bunch of new features, surely complicating everything even further.

This is all about NAMM and having something new and shiny to show off; especially as all the NI plugins require MPC 3. I'd go as far as to say this isn't even a 'release candidate' under normal circumstances. It's still a beta, and likely will be for months to come (IMO).

Sometimes it feels like there is not a development map for MPC3 and they just introduce new features at random.
It Is kinda weird that they introduced such a fully featured keygroup program on the very first version of OS3 that doesnt have the beta tag, yet there are still broken features (like the ableton export and presets for some plugins). It is also amazing that an eight year old device still gets such massive updates, prolonging the life of the device. I haven't seen any other company doing that tbh

How long did it take to have a good working MPC2?
Yes, now that they are switching to that mess called MPC3, MPC2 finally works like a breeze.
But do you remember how it was in 2018?
Do you remember Akai fx crackling? Track mute broken? Qlinks working with latency and showing weird numbers?
These are just a few things I remember.
So, is it gonna be the same with MP3?
From the first hints we are having, my answer is yes, definitely.

There is a new bug for me on my MPC Key 37 (after updating from 3.4 beta to 3.4.1 "final"):
In the favorite screen, whenever I change the sound to some other plugin, the favorite sound is not set correctly.
Let's say you have 4 favorite sounds which are all from the same plugin:
When changing them it works flawlessly.
But as soon as you pick some sound which belongs to another plugin (you can see the plugin name below the Preset name),
the correct sound will not be chosen, but the default plugin sound.
So you have to press that favorite item again.

Very annoying when doing live performances.

Maybe it has something to do with the implementation of the new plugins,
but it also happens when you switch from OPX-4 to Hype, for example.

A bug I forgot to report in the ‘beta’ but also present in this new version: hardware navigation buttons (on the X) don’t work with the FX browser. Thought my screen had frozen until I realised what was wrong. They must be getting commission for every time the touchscreen is used now

Ahhhhh right - nice! Yeah, I've been looking into picking up an ADAT for my Babyface Pro. Just need to find one on the cheap. Behringer's ADA8200 has been on my radar for a long time.

seems like the start up time is a little quicker, but how the hell do you get rid of the pink Welcome to MPC splash screen? even when you click "do not show again" on the next screen, it comes back every restart. so funny of them to say the beta is over. it clearly isn't fully realized yet

Did you do a system preferences reset after updating? The screen you're talking about doesn't appear on my Live 2 after doing that.

Yeah, that's weird. Did you do an update from your Live 2 itself over Wifi? Or did you use a USB Stick and download the image from the web? What version were you on prior to MPC 3?
