MPC 3.4.1?

So, I'm using the MPC Live #1 and have recently installed the 3.4.1 update. Every time I start up the MPC following the 3.4.1 update, it tells me that my system memory is low. I have never had this issue until now. Are the operating/technical requirements of the new update too much for my Live 1 to handle? Can MPCs somehow have their RAM upgraded? It seems that the new update is maxing out the RAM of my older machine....please help!

Because They Have a Huge amount Future Sales with 3.4. They've already made the sales of Plugins/FX with 2.0. 3.4 needs the Support now. Not the 2.15. NI will probably only work with 3.0 anyway(I'm just guessing)

You’re missing the point. There’s going to be a significant part of the customer base that will stay on 2.X. That means all those customers will not be buying new plug ins etc cause they won’t work in 2.x

It makes all the sense in the world to get every mpc user on 3.x to maximize top line sales. I doubt they will spend the resources managing 2 operating systems. Much easier to “force” users to 3.x

I reckon new AIR plugins will continue to work on both 3.4 and 2.15

When I look at activations under preferences in 2.15.0 it lists
"Air Multiband Filterbank - Requires MPC Software update"

Great.
So make MPC3 stable before releasing it.
Give me 100% compatibility with MPC2 projects, not the joke I saw on the beta.
If you respect your users, you don't force them to jump to MPC3 and don't fix those issues, especially the compatibility one.
You don't release plugins or features just for MPC3 (as I also think they'll do) before you are not sure it's perfectly working, it would be a slap on the face to those who are forced to stay on 2 because they need a reliable MPC.

I had problems with my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 on all beta versions, it gave me lots of static through my speakers whenever I played audio. Tried all kinds of stuff; switching audio interfaces back and forth, volume settings, factory reset, different USB port... couldn't get it to work, so I downgraded.

I'm not upgrading until that's fixed, my hardware is useless with MPC3.

I have tried with an old Scarlet 2i2 of my own with Firmware 3.4.1 and I experiencing the same issue as you.

Does anyone else find 3.x to be garish and ugly? Maybe I’m the only one, and not supposing even if everyone agreed that it would matter and they would do anything about it. But the neon colors on the black background just does not look nearly as classy/thoughtful/sophisticated as 2x. And I’m brand new to MPC so I’m not nostalgic or resisting change or anything like that.

I'm sure you're not alone, but to my eyes, 2.15 looks archaic and bland. I find MPC 3's take - especially the Main screen - much nicer. Is it perfect? Nah, but it's an improvement.

Totally agree on this, I updated to the beta when it came out and got really bad eye-strain a few days later; I still find the new design both garish and cluttered. And the colour names are a real clanger… Fire? Azure? Neon? When you want to work fast labelling and colouring tracks but you have to remember whether neon is blue… or green… or was it yellow?

I don’t find it ugly but in the Beta the icons looked very low resolution. I hope they’ve fixed that cause I haven’t updated yet..

Yes!

Everything does look very low res, in addition to looking very garish. Some customization options for the appearance would be wonderful like ableton offers.

If they want making tracks to feel more like a DAW that’s fine, how about actually looking at various DAWs for inspiration. Logic, ableton, pro tools, etc are a medium gray with muted tonal palettes. Not more or less black with wild low res colors all over.

I'm also not a fan of the colors. It's not so much the color but the tint they used. Very odd they would go with someone looking like it was made in 1998. I didn't like the grey and red either but I think I would rather that. Atleast Grey... The whole red thing gotta go... I don't know a single person on this earth that has there daw configured to the terrible color tints akai has chosen

Hi. I just upgraded to 3.4.1 and in a couple of hours of use I've had 3 crashes, doing simple things like copying a pattern or adding a new instrument to the project
Is no one else having these kind of issues?

That added to the fact that the clips are no longer available, makes me seriously consider a downgrade. I've never had a crash before, this seriously worries me.
