need little colour swatches next to the colour name at least, selecting track colours purely by text is ‘challenging’

sparky wrote: And the colour names are a real clanger… Fire? Azure? Neon? When you want to work fast labelling and colouring tracks but you have to remember whether neon is blue… or green… or was it yellow?

I noticed very quickly that my projects wasn’t playing back properly in 3.4.1 I.e tracks that were once muted are playing, in song mode the sequences aren’t syncing up properly (making it sound choppy going from end of verse to hook), instruments are transposed an octave and also sometimes the wrong samples are being triggered.

I downgraded back to 2.15 and all is working and sounding how it should be. Has anyone else had these issues?

I’m working of an MPC live 2.

Thanks in advance

Before I upgraded to MPC 3, I made note of the I/O routing of all of the tracks, submixes and returns (I'm using a 32 channel class compliant audio interface).

While still in 2.15.1- I also saved a copy of the project I was going to load in MPC 3, but named differently, just in case things go wrong.

I can confirm that when I loaded the copied project in MPC 3- The routing was totally off. So luckily because I made note of what it was suppose to be, I made the adjustments and now everything sounds the way it should.

Hope this helps!

But the neon colors on the black background just does not look nearly as classy/thoughtful/sophisticated as 2x. And I’m brand new to MPC so I’m not nostalgic or resisting change or anything like that.

agree the icons look worse in 3.0 as far as resolution and low res graphical style.

also the new main screen looks like there is alot wasted space; but i guess just gotta get used to it; the new mixer look good as does the sample edit screen, and i dont mind the program/track edit screens.

I just think akai should have a legacy mode option within3.0; where if u select legacy mode the programs are unlinked from the track, also there should be an option to use the legacy main page within 3.0.

but yeah if they could allow people to adjust the icon res and colours that would help

I'm on an MPC Live 2 and it's rock solid stable for me. When you updated, how did you update? From the beta, or from 2.15? Did you update via WiFi, or did you use the downloadable firmware image and a USB Stick? Did you do a system Preferences reset after updating?

I did it from the 3.x beta vía WiFi, and did not reset system Preferences after. I will try this but, about upgrading, is better other way?

I'd encourage you to downgrade back to 2.15 using the firmware download onto a USB stick, and then upgrade to 3.4.1 using the firmware onto a USB stick, and then do a system Preferences reset afterwards and see if that improves your stability. Make sure you are software OS ejecting your USB stick from your computer (and MPC) before removing it, BTW, or you will corrupt the data on the stick.

Thanks for the help, I will try to solve it in that way.

Not that kind of issues. I guess you are working on projects created on MPC 2.x, right? The support for them is horrible.

Zoobliminal wrote:That added to the fact that the clips are no longer available, makes me seriously consider a downgrade. I've never had a crash before, this seriously worries me. :hmmm:

If you are using the MPC for serious work and not for leisure, downgrade. The new stuff isn't work the hassle.

Well, I am only fooling around and get going with MPC3. But if I had a bunch of MPC2 projects to be finished or worse to be played live I don't think that I'd use MPC3.

That said the overall look and feel of MPC3 is much better. I like the new main screen and have absolutely no issues with the new colours. Mixing from the main sreen and the new mixers is easier etc.

Just too many bugs for now. Nothing I think that could be sorted out rather soon if the programmers would be allowed to address them. Though I fear the marketing team urges them to add even more features.

Is MPC3 really free? I'm kinda expecting that after a few months it will say "Your trial MPC3 has expired"

here: https://support.akaipro.com/en/support/ ... 3-beta-faq

it says:
MPC3 Is now available and has qualified from Beta - This guide covers frequently asked questions on the free software update for MPC Standalone Hardware.

and then later down:
Is MPC3 a free update?
Yes- MPC3 is a free update for the following MPC Standalone Hardware:

MPC Live
MPC Live MKII
MPC One
MPC One+
MPC X
MPC X SE
MPC Key 37
MPC Key 61

so yep, for free. They seem to be earning enough money from plugins
