Newbie to the forum here so forgive me if I'm in the wrong place, and if I am please direct me to the right place. After installing the most recent firmware update (3.4.1) on my MPC key 37 it seems that the ability to change the time signature in 'project defaults' no longer exists. And I am not able to find any place to change the time signature. Please don't tell me this option no longer exists. It would render the MPC useless to me as I frequently need that option.

They are working on integrating other time signatures. AFAIK they built 3.x loosely around the Force firmware where it is so the case that there is only 4/4 time signatures.

Yep, I think enough of us raised enough of a stink, and Akai is going to comply, hopefully sooner rather than later. The Software version is the real signifier IMO, if they come out with 3.41 without time signatures as a first version of 3 for the computer App, VSTi and AU version, then we know it will be a while.

Hopefully they fix 3 before the software version, I figured out a way to use MPC2 VSTi without it being a crashy mess so I'm good until they fix it. BTW that's the way to do it, use the software version, it doesn't like other audio interfaces on Mac OS though, so use the built in.

Got it. Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately I was in the middle of working on a 3/4 time stamp project at the time I updated. My bad. Won't do that again. I find it hard to believe they would even release this update without time signature change ability. So it looks like my best option at this point is to revert back to a previous version until this issue is resolved.

Ongoing Improvements
We deeply appreciate the feedback from our MPC 3 beta users. Two key areas—Time
Signature Support and the MIDI Note Off issue—have been at the forefront of your input.
Please rest assured that we are actively working to address these concerns in a future update.

What’s so hard about utilising the loop length to acheive far more time signitures.?
Also I seem to remember being able to make more time signatures available by creating a line in the Mpc settings file. Don’t know if that applied to the force too, if it did it may still be possible. You would Of course need to enable ssh to access this settings file.

Because your loop needs to be either multiple of four quarter notes long or you have to do some math and spread your notes off the grid (of the MOC) to put them on the beat (of your rhythm).
